Adobe Bridge displays icons on top of image in Full screen view

Icons like RAR, txt files if any in that folder. Bridge 4.0.5.11 Windows XP SP3.

    This screen is not one I recognize.  What workspace are you using?

    Screenshot shows fullscreen and issue happens only in fullscreen, select any image in for example Essentials workspace, press Space on keyboard and use arrows to show next/previous image and screenshot shows whats happening at list at my computer.

    Guess I am confused as the image in the screenshot is not full screen and you have arrows below the image.

     

    When I hit spacebar the image is full screen. no borders and no arrows.  Also no artifacts on screen.

     

    Am using CS5 and Win7.

    If this is all the bigger your full screen image is the problem probably lies with the video card or driver.  See if there are any updates.  If not in advanced preferences check "use sofware rendering".

    Use Software Rendering is checked and grayed out in Advanced options, probably is Video card if that can be problem. Driver is up-to date. Screenshot above is in fullscreen, but I crop it and arrows is there to indicate when this happening.

    Where has the icon come from? Is it on the desktop?

     

    The only problem I know of, in full-screen mode, is where the sort order relies on metadata (instead of file system data), and the foreground screen drops behind another during sorting. I set mine to filename sort to avoid this.

     

    Otherwise, it could just be a video card driver problem.

    Both, image and .RAR archive shown in screenshot are on desktop in sub-folder. Where to set to filename sort, I do not see such option in Preferences.

    It isn't in Preferences. It is in the Path toolbar, top right of the screen. If it's missing, try Window > Path bar.

    Do you mean option sort By Filename, By Type and so on..

    This does not solve the problem, still icon appear on top of image

    Anyway, my idea is not to complain but to report this issue. I can live with that.

    I looked up RAR and it is a file generated by WinRAR archiver.  So to me it looks like there is some conflict with the RAR file and how Bridge handles them.

     

    I don't know what RAR files are used for, but can you move them to a different folder and see it that solves the problem?

    No its not that conflict, it happens and with txt file created with notepad as you can see in screenshot below. RAR is same as ZIP, app to compress files for Internet and one can decompress it with any unzipper.

    In you directory hirearchy were do you have the notepad and RAR files?  

     

    I could try to reproduce your setup with a notepad and see what happens.  Will you get the overlay if you open a jpeg photo in full screen?

    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\Nije postavljeno\Postavljeno iz location, all files are in same directorium, and all images are with .jpeg extension. Yes I have overlay with JPEG.     To make this simpler than reproducing you exact setup,  here is what I did.

     

    Add new folder to drive C.     C:\Bridge Test

     

    Copy jpeg and a wordpad document into this folder.  In Bridge open folder and click on image and then spacebar.  Image full screen, but no artifact in view.

     

    Try this same thing on your machine and see it you get different results.

    No overlay with txt, even with rar file pasted in that folder. It seems problem is only in one particular folder. This also happend once with droplets, problem was only in one particular folder, moving files to another folder solved problem. I forget to try to move files.

    In those problem folders you might try purging the cache with Tools/purge cache for xxx folder.  This will purge cache in both the central cache and in folders, if you have this option selected.

     

    Glad we got some satisfaction with all this effort.

    On XP can happen droplets not to work. I haved support question for droplets posted on Ps Exchange and this was my answer and solution:

     

    If you experience problem like droplet was unable to connect, message like this one: The droplet was unable to connect. Please try again. (Error code 38.) create new folder then copy and paste all images to new folder. This was happen to me with few images in one of my folders in Windows XP. I have no idea why this happens and why only in that folder but copying and pasting images in new folder solve problem.

     

    Thanks and if anybody with XP experience problems like this can find answer here for satisfaction.
