I have a new i7-2600k cpu, asus p8z68 mboard, 16g ram. cs5.
When I use another program for video conversion, it uses 100% of my cpu.
When I use prpro, it only uses 25-40% of the cpu,
Is there a way to set up prpro so that it uses more of the computer horsepower for rendering? - Thanks!
PP will always use whatever it needs to. There's no setting for this. If the CPU usage is below 100%, it's because PP doesn't need the full resources. This could be for several reasons. If you're using hardware acceleration, some of the work is being offloaded to the GPU. Or if your disks aren't fast enough to feed the stream, or if you have third-party effects that are rendered on the GPU, things can slow down.
Bottom line is that there's nothing you can do within PP to push CPU usage up. PP will use what it needs.
