Import PDF?

Is there a way to import a .pdf into a collage directly from my device storage?  If not, perhaps that feature could be considered?  Having to upload them to the Cloud first seems like an unnecessary extra step.

    Thanks for posting this feature request, we would add this to the database.

     

    I would like to take this opportunity to know a few stuffs from yourside (...if its comfortable to share). What kind of data you pick from the .pdf file and what is the typical workflow that you follow with Collage.

     

    Also, do post your ideas and creation on the Adobe Collage Facebook page.

    Thanks for the response.  I hope we can see this feature (and many others!) added soon.  I'm enjoying Collage quite a bit so far, and while I appreciate its elegant simplicity, there's certainly plenty of room to expand.

     

    I'm a high school teacher and I have been experimenting with Collage to create visuals for our lessons and activities.  I enjoy the fluidity of it--previously I've worked with a program called ActivInspire, which is more or less a glorified version of Power Point, and I've found it to be too linear.

     

    As far as the .pdf files go, I am mostly using text.  In fact, an even nicer feature would be the ability to import .doc and .docx files, but for now converting them to .pdf first isn't a big deal.  Having to upload the .pdf files to the cloud just to be able to bring them into my collage is a bit obtuse, though.

     

    I'm not quite sure what you mean by my "workflow" but I am usually building a moodboard around some central idea or concept which is then supported through images, example texts, and questions.

    Good to hear that you are enjoying working with Collage.

     

    With workflow, i meant 'for what kind of work' do you use Collage. Thanks for sharing details about the School activity related workflow.

    Have you tried working with the 'Text Feature' available within Collage. Also, have your tried Copying text strings from other applications and pasting them in Collage, this would be handy.
