My problem is now sorted out.  I had windows reloaded.  That was the ONLY

way I could get photoshop to install and work again.  Didn't want to install

    the organizer

Please tell me how you "had windows reloaded."

I assume you are running Windows 7?  64-bit?

I am still having problems downloading Photoshop 10. It says that the program is downloaded. As I continue it says that it  can't be opened because it is the wrong type of file?

I have to say that for a reputable company such as Adobe, the instructions for download are totally non existent. The download for purchases on line are controlled by Digital River. I had problems with downloading as the link on the email confirming my purchase didn't work finally found the url link by pasting the email in Front Page and reading the source.

When I finally got through I was advised by the Digital River customer service that I had had too many attempts at downloading the software. When I sent a mail to CS at Digital I received this reply:

"Unfortunately, we do not handle the customer service for Adobe Systems,

Inc. Home. Please contact them directly with your request through one of

    the following methods:

    Customer Service URL: http://www.adobe.com/ap/support

Customer Service Phone: If available, the regional numbers will be

    listed at the URL above.

    We apologize for the inconvenience."

I have now run around the adobe site trying to find a way to download the products, but no joy so far.

I tried to get customer serice to call me back , but this service is not available for my country, Thailand.

The final way I am told is to make a call to the customer service at the number listed on my confirmation email.

I already called this number (which I believe I have to pay for) and spent some 10 minutes on the line to what I believe was someone located in India who said he would send me a link for downloading the software.

As they say in the song .... I'm still waiting!!!!!

Adobe, shame on you. Please get your act together. Why can't you handle your own customer service rather than sub contract it out. You charge enough for the product which more than covers the cost

What about Adobe Photoshop Elements 10(the one with only three disks)?

I have installed disk one, but when I try to install disk two it says serial number is invalid.

I installed Elements 10 and Premier 10, but then the Elements program said to update the Adobe Photoshop.com Inspiration Browser. It failed to load. The program said to deinstall the Adobe Photoshop.com Inspiration Browser program. I did this, but now Adobe Photoshop.com Inspiration Browser will still not reinstall.  I had already installed Adobe Air, but that has no effect as your update program cannot see the Air program. How to reinstall the updated Adobe Photoshop.com Inspiration Browser?

I've given up on trying to get Elements 10 to load properly. Unless I first reboot my system, it simply plays dead!

    @gjnano,

I am having exactly the same problem with the Inspiration Browser! After dutifully uninstalling the thing because a pop-up told me I should get the update, the installer hung up on my Adobe AIR, which I had successfully updated, but the installer ignored. Instead it told me it had to install AIR in order to load the Browser update, which it immediately informed me it couldn't do, due to a download error, but did I wish to retry? As you no doubt know, it did not matter that I did so wish, the same thing happened every time. I would appreciate it if I could wait here with you on this bench so I can jump on the bus to salvation when it comes for you. Thank you, you are most kind. Gum?

    Hi,

If you have successfully installed Disc 1, then Photoshop Elements should be listed in your Programs menu. You can start using Photoshop Elements. Disc 2 is for installing a trial version of Premiere Elements, a software for editing video footage. You can choose to install the trial version, or just let be.

You are ready to go as far as I can see. Let me know if you still face any problems.

Just to add, I am a big Photoshop Elements fan, and I am sure you will enjoy using the software as much as I do. If you need help using it, check out these cool videos at http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-photoshop-elements-10/.

    Have a very nice weekend!

    Thanks,

Oh thank you so much - I thought it depended on disk 2 to work - I cannot understand why they don't include simple info like this so you know that disc one is all you need - I have spent 3 hrs trying to get answers - I talked to a real person on Adobe chat (in some distant land) who could not help me and here you are (my hero) with the answer.  I can now take my exhausted brain and go to bed as it is already after midnight.  I will check out the link which will be of great help to a novice 1st time user like me.

thanks again you help is so much appreciated.

    Ciao

    Hello Preran,

I just purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 11.  There are instructions to retrieve my serial number by going to www.adobe.com/go/getserial, at which point in time, enter a given Redemption Code which is indicated on the instruction sheet that came with the CD.  First, the stated address is an invalid address.  How/Where do I go to redeme this code to retrieve my serial number?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sal

I would so much like some help to install a disk-package of JUSTAdobe Photosho Elements 10, bought & received in Canada. I have a serial number. I have three disks. I have tried and tried to install it every which way and the following messages come up when I try to run the install from the disk

    1. "Invalid Unicode File" .\AutoPlay\main.ini

then another error code comes up

    2. Error MAIN_FILE_VERSION

then another error code comes up

    3. Error PRODUCT_REGISTRY_PARENT

    and, last but not least...

    4. Error PRODUCT_REGISTRY_KEY

I am on a new ASUS ZenBook with a 64-bit Intel CORE i5 processor, Windows 7, 1920x1080 res screen, and plenty of room on the hard drive.

I paid good money for this product and can't use it. Arg.

Can you please wave your wand?

    Fran

As best I can tell from reading posts for almost a year, no one has solved this problem.  I guess we have all been taken for a long and VERY frustrating ride by Adobe.  And they have the nerve to try to get us to pay $79 for an "upgrade."  How can we upgrade something we can't download properly?

    Hi Selumi,

The link works fine for me. Can  you check again and get back if you still have problems? I am not sure if it helps but try using a different browser too.

    Thanks,

    Hi Fran,

Open the CD in Windows Explorer, and double-click Setup.exe instead of relying on the CD to Autoplay. Let me know if you still have problems.

    Thanks,

Even if this works with the CD, it doesn't help with downloading Elements 10 from the Internet.  I have wasted many many hours on this problem and finally just went back to Elements.

Does anyone know what problem there are with Elemen

ADOBE - you ever going to fix this??? Same problem.. no answers. Love your products but you just wasted 30 minutes of my time as I tried to find an answer... And I still haven't found one and apparantly everyone else is waiting for one too.

When I click on 'Download the update' my browser opens, http://eib.assyst.net/PIB/AdobePhotoshopDotcomInspirationBrowser.html  -- 'install now' leads to 'AIR installer' which leads to 'could not install AIR due to error' and the cycle starts again.

From one comment I saw it seems that this tool is irrelevant now anyways... If that is the case, why are we still prompted to update? If it can't be fixed then at least an answer would be nice.

--It seems this topic is spread across the forums -  my search led me to #39 in this thread which was the closest thread I could find...---

Ah yes Preran. Thanks. This was the first thing I did.

Then, I copied the entire disk-1 to my hard-drive and tried to run the setup.exe file from that source. Same problem. So then I went to the internet site (I live on a boat, so had to go ashore and connect: not the usual config!). I went to the download page on the Adobe's site and got nowhere trying to download PE 10 from the site. It only provides PE11. So finally, I tried downloading PE11, which I could do only so far as I didn't need a serial number. After PE11 loaded, they asked for my serial number. In vain hope, I put in the serial number from my dud PE10 package and of course it said the number was invalid for the product. This process took me perhaps five hours of faddling in all, and I ended up no further forward. Hmmm!! Getting truly annoyed with Adobe, as you can imagine.

Surely for all this crap-load of difficulty I should get some sort of compensation and be permitted to use the PE11 as my own. I now have a 30-day trial package and will no doubt be asked to pay for it.

Is there any way that a message can be got to the RIGHT person about these sorts of problems? Usually, when you pay 120 bucks for a product and it truly doesn't work, you get your money back, you get some sort of replacement, or whatever. How do I ask for this??? And WHO. I'm sure you are a good CS/tech consultant and not in sales, right? WHO DO I WRITE TO ABOUT THE BUSINESS SIDE OF THIS?? Because it's quite ridiculous.

However, YOU are not!! So, I also want to know if you have any suggestions for how I can somehow or other get the product I paid for.

    Thanks,

    Fran

Installing PhotoshopElements 10 & Premiere Elements 10 on a new system running Win7 home..  Photoshop went on fine, but Premiere claims my system does not meet the specs - but in fact it exceeds the specs!  Made many repeat attempts working through the troubleshooting guides, trying again to install etc, but it makes no difference. My system exceeds the requirements, yet it still will simply not let me install and says processor not supported. Processor speed required 2Ghz - my speed 3Ghz, 7GB of hard drive needed - I've got over 900GB spare! My system matches or exceeds in all respects. Online help useless as it's always closed!

May justhave to fork out for Sony Vegas Pro - at least I know that installs as I've used it on other machines. Maybe Adobe are so big and confident they just don't care about individual customers

any more? - all of these complaints above would certainly point that way.
