When I place an image that I want to fill a page, do I do it to the bleed line or page edge?

Hi, I am very new to indesign, I have been asked to set a bleed line of 5mm by a printer, do I put images that I want to fill apge to the edge up to the bleed line, or page edge? thanks, Kestrel999

    Up to the bleed line.

Bear in mind that everything between the bleed line and the page edge is

    likely to get chopped off.

Also, if the printer is asking for 5mm of bleed, anything that is 5mm

close to the edge of the page may also get cut off.

So make sure to keep important elements 5mm away from the edges.

5mm sounds like a lot, by the way.

If they say 5mm I wouldn't bother checking with them. It just shows a

    rather larger margin of error.

You set the bleed for the entire document in one go under "Document

Preset." (Windows: File>Document Preset). Shortcut AltCtrlP.
