Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 cannot read a pdf

When I attempt to open a PDF with Preview I get a message saying, "To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html"

When I go the Adobe URL it does not offer a download for 10.7.2.  When I install the latest download I still cannot open the PDF.

Ideas?

But are you trying to open it in Adobe Reader or are you still trying to use Mac Preview?

Open Adobe Reader and use File>Open to open the PDF.

You're welcome. If you want to start using Reader to open ALL PDF's (I prefer it over Preview any day), just change the associations by highlighting a PDF, Control-click and choose "Get info>Open with. Choose Reader then click the "Change All..." button.
