PSE9..full edit problems

the effects feature has stopped working! started to edit a photo yeaterday..clicked on effects under full edit..nothing! has a little circle with a line in it! the content side is the same.Guided and quick edit works fine.help

called adobe suppot..their answer was i need to pay for a support ticket!..39.00 for them to tell me why their product isn't working?

Try re-setting the Preferences: Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys when starting the Editor and answer "Yes" to the prompt to delete the Preferences. They will be re-built when you start the Editor again.

Also, go to Image>Mode and be sure your image is 8 bits, RGB.

it asks if i want to delete the settings file..yes or no?
should i just uninstall my PSE9 and reinstall and hope it works?

Answer "Yes". The Preferences will be re-built the next time you start the Editor.

didn't work. the full editor effects on rt side of screen still don't work. don't get the content either.

Delete these two files -- they're in the hidden "\ProgramData" directory, so you'll need to temporarily change your folder options to show hidden files.

"C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\9.0\ThumbDatabase.db3"

"C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\9.0\Locale\en_us\MediaDatabase.db3"

Start PSE, and wait while it automatically rebuilds those database files.
