How to drag a file from AdvancedDataGrid to InDesign Document?

    As it happens, I was just working on a cookbook recipe for dragging and dropping between CS Extension panels and CS Host applications.

     

    It doesn't cover the AdvancedDataGrid itself, but the techniques shown should get you most of the way there.

    The sample app uses Application.

     

    Why wouldn't detecting a drag via mouse actions work over an AdvancedDataGrid as it does with a TileList or just about any other component? Once the drag is detected, you're simply calling the NativeDragManager.

     

    Of course, you do need to set the clipboard to something that ID can actually process/place.

    Adobe does not support extension development using Flex 4.5.1 for CS5/5.5. It is possible you are experiencing side effects of the sdk mismatch.
