Initializing Flash Player Error

I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55 onto my PC.  The error that occurs is " Installation encountered errors"  "Failed to Initialization" . My OS is Windows 7 with a 64 bit system. I have troubled shoot to the pouint that I ma pulling my hair out from frustration. This error is so generic.... Can some one shed some light on this for me.
