Setting focus on multiple components

Feb 14, 2012 11:04 PM

Hi,

I wish to make a search component having text input at top and custom result pop up which is displayed only when results are obtained. Problem is that when the results are obtained, I need to set focus on the pop up so that the user can navigate by keyboard through search results. Also at same time the user can type something for search. But as the focus is now on pop up the, text is not captured in text input.

So I want a text input and a pop up both to be working at same time as in combo box.

I am using sdk 4.6

Please help. Its urgent

Thanks in advance.

The trick is to add event listeners to both your textinput field AND your list. In the lists event handler, add the character just typed to the textinput. From both those event listeners, call a third function that does the searching or filtering.
