White background while player loads using SMP

Im experiencing a white background for a second while the player loads using SMP. I've seen this on all the example files and it looks terrible because the page has a black background. I've tried setting backgroundColor, and css styles to black but no change. Any help? Thanks.

 

ps- im using the newest version of SMP- 1.6, jquery embed method.
