I was just looking through some old photos with overexposed regions in clouds which are too blown to be recovered, and it occurred to me that it would be handy if there were an adjustment to add detail back into blown highlight regions. For example, for clouds it would sample the patterns in the surrounding clouds and add them to the blown region — a kind of healing effect with sliders for amount and feather.
Obviously too late for Lightroom 4, but maybe not for Lightroom X?
