Illustrator 5.5 - Using Scripts

Hi - I need to understand how I can use an existing illustrator 5.5 (5.1) file with an existing scripts file. These were sent to me from a client and they work together. When I go to File/Scripts and select the scripts file to open it, nothing happens. I can't seem to find a scripts window to open so see what is there. Need to know if Illustrator 5.5 supports this and how to use the two? Thank you!
