Enable CF metrics logging

CF Metrics logging is useful for examining performance problems.

To enable you would edit JRun.XML and apply some changes; details:

Since CF10 does not use JRun now changed to Tomcat, how would one enable something similar to CF Metrics logging?

I appreciate CF10 > Server Monitoring > Server Monitor is present tho for a system with Standard licence Server Monitor would not available.

Perhaps I am trying to monitor with old tools (CFMetrics) that do not apply on new CF10 environment. Since Tomcat is the underlying virtual machine I might be better off using other tools like “JMX remote” with jconsole and jvisualvm both part of Java Dev Kit?

The metrics logging in CF 9 and earlier was provided by JRun. However, tomcat does not provide this and the only option is to use its mbeans to get the required information. The cfstat utility that is shipped with CF 10 uses the mbeans API to get the same and you can use that.
We are also exploring if we can build something similar to metrics logging that was there in CF 9 and earlier.
