I'm trying to create scrollable content w/in a MSO and I'm having a lot of trouble. I've watch the video tutorials and referenced DPS user guide pdf and still can't understand what I'm doing wrong. My content won't scroll in the preview or on my iPad (Adobe Content Viewer) Any suggestions? Here are some visual aids.
This is my main page. I want to be able to click on this "power header", go to an overlay that has scrollable content. Button works just fine.
This is my second state and the problem at hand. Why won't the content scroll within this red box? Close button works just fine but the scrollable content doesn't. What am I missing here. I'm so frustrated... partly becuase it's probably a stupid error on my part, but just can't figure it out.
I believe I have the most recent tools installed. How can I double check?
Yes, I selected the container frame and applied Pan Only.
Yes, I completely recreated the scrollable content on a blank test page and still couldn't get it to work.
On a side note… I'll be learning a lot about DPS in May at PEPCON. That's for the tip on the conference. Taking the wife too, for extra brownie points.
If you can't get your scrollable frame to work outside the MSO, it's not a matter of having the most recent tools installed -- unless you haven't update your tools in more than four months. Are you selecting the content frame, cutting it, and pasting it into the container frame?
I'll be at PEPCON as well, along with Bob Levine, Colin Fleming, and a bunch of other DPS specialists. Should be fun...
Perhaps I don't know what a container frame is.
Using the rectangle frame tool I created a box that was 600px wide.
Using the Type tool I created a text frame that was 590px wide and long enough to see my entire content.
I cut it, and pasted it w/in the box that I created with the rectangle tool.
Clicked on the rectangle with my clipped content and selected Pan Only
With the individual select tool I could move my centent up and down.

It sounds like you're creating the scrollable frame correctly. Here's the article on that topic:

I had some problems with Scrollable Content in MSO.
This was helpful:

Check object names.
Man, I thought this would do the trick but I'm still not getting it. So crazy. I don't know what to do at this point this is a feature that I must have in my aresnal.

Yes I am. It's working on my screen, just not on my iPad. See this video.
Basically I have a front cover w/ two a buttons. One takes you too another article in my folio and the second one takes you to a second state that has the troublesome scrollable area. I've renamed ever object in the layers drop down as referenced in the article you sent me and I just can seem to fix it.
I have another area that has four state will 360 tours, scrollable content and buttons that work on screen but not on my iPad too.
A simple fix would be to put all these special feature on individual article pages but I really want a more robust user experience.
I'm getting pretty desperate with my final deadline on Monday. What would you charge me to take a look a my InDesign files and help troubleshot the problem? I've got an ftp and a paypal account.
