Splitting First & Last Name in web form reports

Mar 6, 2012 10:22 PM

Question:

I have a client who wants to export a report of Customers & details that have been captured by a webform. He wants to have the First & Last names separate. I see that when reporting Contacts this is possible, but when doing a Customer report it is not. Is there any way around this?

Answer:

You can actually do this in Excel, I had this exact problem and I am by no means an excel guru! If you export all info (customers and companies) you can split the first and last name by highlighting the column with the data you want to split. If you have a new version of excel you with then click on the "data" tab up the top, click on "Text to Columns", select delimited, click on next then choose "space" as the delimiter, click on Next then Finish.
