Cross Dissolve Problem

Hi,

Can someone help me figure out when I put a cross dissolve at the beginning of my movie it starts at 100% black, then a quick jump to 80% black, then it cross dissolves into the clip.

I can’t figure out why this jump in black happens.

I attached a visual example so you can see the difference in the blacks.

Thanks.

Best guess is the linear light processing used with GPU acceleration.

    Try turning that off.

Hardware acceleration is a Project Setting (under General).

On a side note, how is W8 running?  Do the Adobe and other programs run OK?

You're not using CS5 or 5.5, are you?

Firstly, don't cross dissolve from nothing. Create a black video (you can do this in your project panel), and drop it on the timeline before the video clip. Make sure there isn't any space between your black video, and clip. Double check to make sure you've got enough frames at the beginning of the clip, so as the cross dissolve has enough frames to process.

Make sure that there's no clips above or below the cross dissolve.

Apply your cross dissolve. Hopefully this should fix any bugs.
