lr 4 upgrade

hi,

 

I have been using LR 4 beta.  do I uninstall it before installing LR4?

 

I don't want two versions.  do i remove LR3 after installing LR4, or before?  does the LR 4 upgrade need any settings from the LR3 for installation, like registration info or serial #'s, etc. 

I would have thought this would be in the basic instructions.

    If your'e using Windows (always helps to be up front about your OS, Frederick) then no, the installation of Lr 4 takes care of the beta install.

     

    If you don't want Lr 3 on your machine then in Windows you'll have to uninstall it yourself.

     

    It might be a good idea to leave it be for a while though, just in case you have problems with 4.

    It's not essential to uninstall the LR4beta before installing 4.0.....but I did, and I'd recommend it.

     

    Regarding LR3....suggest you don't uninstall it until you've fully evaluated the 4.0 version and are 100% certain there's no going back. I would have thought leaving LR3 installed for a few weeks wouldn't be a problem? When you enter your upgrade serial number for 4.0, if LR3 is still installed its serial number should be automatically found. If, OTOH, you do uninstall LR3 first, make sure you've got a note of the LR3 serial number as you'll have to manually enter it.

    What about on a Mac, should you remove LR4 beta? If so how? Thanks
