Contribute CS5 freezing on publish

I have a site which freezes when publishing pages on slightly lower spec Windows machines. It seems to go through the motions, then gets stuck on a white screen attempting to load the published page into the browser. Whatever edits have been made do publish out, but Contribute has to be quit through Task Manager. It then freezes whenever I try to connect to the site. I have to delete the connection and start again to stop this, but it will always freeze again on publish.

 

This only happens on one particular site, and never happens on higher spec Windows machines or Macs. Unfortunately the client will be using a lower spec Windows machine.

 

Any ideas?

    I am having similar problems.It seems to happen on all my sites and I am finding that when we upgrade to high end PC's with Windows 7 it is working much better (haven't heard of any freezing there). However, most of my contributors are using older PCs but they are well within the recommended specifications (some still way above, but not functioning well at all). This is a HUGE problem for me.  I would like to see an answer too. I am working on cleaning up sites to assist but this is really more just for our functionality, I don't think it makes a big difference in the long run. HELP.
