I have a new job:
I'll probably be even more active here on this forum. Well, not in the Lounge, necessarily.
Sincere congratulations on the move up!
I hope you prepare your replacement in 'technical support group' for the
inevitable complaints regarding the useless information and delay tactics
that have historically been employed by phone and chat support.
At least you won't have to collect case numbers for follow-ups anymore.
> Ah, Seattle. How I miss Seattle; I used to live in West Seattle out on Alki point. Is Spuds still around?
Yes, though I only go to the Greenlake one.
> Lucky your bump up did not get you moved to San Jose, so congrats on both scores.
Any job that involved moving to San Jose would also involve me declining it.
> At least you won't have to collect case numbers for follow-ups anymore.
Not so. In fact, I expect to do a bit more. My job is still to make sure that people are getting the best possible information about how to use our software---I'm just doing it from a different angle.
Todd,
I just broke out the Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame!
Sounds like a promotion, but things like that, often end up being much more work, for less pay. Hope that is not the case here.
The really good news is that you will now be spending more time with us, and we greatly appreciate that.
Congratulations!!!!

Ah, 45 degrees on the protractor of perception, related to the job. Sorry, I missed that. Must me my one-track mind, or perhaps it was my declaring Wine-Thirty early, to celebrate Todd's big promotion.
Of course now, Todd will demand that we refer to him as the "Grand Poobah," or perhaps the "Big Kahuna." That holds especially for Jim, if he wants his Feature Request lists to even be considered, that is.
