Flash Player wont install

I am running Mac OSX 10.7.3 with Safari 5.1.5 and I have ran the uninstaller and restarted my computer.  Restarted and installed flash player OSX.  for some reason my computer wont recognize it as installed.  Is there anyone that can give me an idea of how to get flash installed?  I have tried this about 20 times with no success I have also tried to install the old version of flash with no success.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you go to Safari's preferences dialog, then the Security Tab and verify that "Enable plug-ins" is checked?  If so, please close the preferences dialog and select Safari's Help-Installed Plug-ins menu.  What do you see listed?  Do you see an entry for "Shockwave Flash"?

Chris you are the best I have been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks and that check box was off.  I have it working again.  Thanks allot for your help.
