Problems with page formatting, missing images, interactivity, styles, etc. in the browser are generally caused by one of 3 things:
- You didn't upload all the files exported by Muse to your webhost. You must upload all the files, including the css, images, and scripts folders that Muse exports when you choose File > Export as HTML...
If your site was displaying properly in the past, you made some changes in Muse, exported and uploaded your changed files, and your site does not display properly, upload all of your site files again. Even if you have made only minor changes to your site, Muse may have made changes to files you're not aware of. Be sure to upload all folders and files Muse exports for your site.
- You uploaded the files, but the permissions on the files are not set to allow public access. Consult your FTP client help files to see how to set permissions.
- You did not upload to the proper directory on your web host. In many cases you will have a user directory and a directory for uploading your public facing web pages. This directory is sometimes named public_html, html, www, etc. Consult with you web hosting documentation for instructions on the proper location to upload your website files.
We have created some documentation on Using a third-party FTP client to upload assets to a hosted Muse site
