I haven't learnt to use illustrator yet so I've done all my design on photoshop but I was wondering what illustrator is used for in industry and just see how it compares to photoshop
Unless I'm missing something not stated explicitly in the original post, I would not want to do without either one of these applications. It's almost like pondering the pros and cons of bread vs. butter.
But you can place photos in Illustrator. And it's full of raster effects lately. You can even use the value of an underlying image pixel to affect attributes of an object.
Man, I would love Gradient Mesh in Photoshop, though.
