Trying to upgrade to CF 9 from 8.01, the unstall of 8.01 hung on folders.

Now I can't reinstall as the option is greyed out message :

"This option is disabled because JRun 4 has been detected on this machine"

I have removed the JRun directory, all instances of CF, any key's I could
in Regedit.

Does anyone know what I need to delete to allow me to reinstall?

Thanks

Gary

Thanks guys, resolved the problem the registry key to delete is

"Uninstall Adobe ColdFusion 8 (Multiserver)". I had previously removed all the instances using the command
line which is : sc delete [INSTANCE_NAME].

Found the registry key using the registry search using Adobe, however I never realised how many abobe fields there would be.

Should have just searched for ColdFusion which was obvious.

Thanks again

Try re-installing ColdFusion 8. Then uninstall it by the book.

I was uninstalling by the book, however the uninstall failed at the folders part, I beleive due to the high number of files in the \cfclasses folder.  I want to reinstall as you suggested, however it won't allow me to, hence the post. I need to know what to clear to allow me to reinstall?

Try Rob Brooks-Bilson's tip for removing a Windows Service from the Command Line . (I am assuming you will see the names when you open Services.)

Maybe look for keys with mention of "adobe" and "macromedia" too, and remove 'em too.
