How do I create a sub navigation, detached from the main navigation bar.

Apr 8, 2012 7:59 AM

I'm in the middle of the development of a website that has two navigation areas. In the top area of the site I have the main navigation, with home, about, work and contact, while in the bottom area of the work page I would like to add a sub navigation of disciplines, like corporate identity, brochures &leaflets, annual reports etc. These will be child pages under the work page.

I can't seem to find the possibility of detaching the sub navigation of the disciplines from the main navigation. Can someone tell me how I should create this possibility in such a way that the sub navigation will generated automatically, but detached from the main navigation?

Cheers,

Unfortunately having two unique sets of automatically generated navigation isn't currently possible. One alternative is to create your top navigation with a manual menu, your bottom navigation with a menu widget, and then disable the top-level pages from showing up in menus (found in page preferences, or by right-clicking a page in Plan mode). Since there are more pages in the bottom navigation, this could at least save some time by keeping that set automatically generated.
