I have 2 major projects using CS5 and the software has become corrupt. What will happen to these projects (0ver 5000 links on 1 project) if I uninstall then reinstall the program?
Thank you for responding....I'm not certain what I am dealing with here yet. I have a very large project with over 5000 media clips and in trying to open the project I get a message stating "This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type. And there is an "OK" button which when clicked closes the program. I have tried to open the project using one of the numerous "safe copies" which I have made along the way and I continue to get this message box. How is it possible that all the "safe copies" which date back about 2 months are all corrupted? I created safe copies along the way just in case of a major crash, and now I find I can not even use them to restore my project to some earlier date! I have also tried to start a new project just to determine if I have corrupted software and I do not get as a choice the type of project I need which is XD Cam EX 1080i24 which leads me to think that I have corrupt software. Any advise how to go forward?
It always helps to provide as much info as possible. Try starting a new Project, and then Import Premiere Pro project. You should see an option to Import Selected Sequences. I'd suggest you try one at a time, as this may allow you to get all your Sequences except maybe the corrupt one.
I had a RAID catastrophe that corrupted all my Pr Projects and backups on a certain partition. That's why we need regular backups.
Check whether you have all the sequence presets for HDV, ACDHD, RED, etc when you try to create a new sequence. My guess is that your installation reverted to trial mode amd then you have to perform these steps:
1. Deactivate
2. Uninstall
3. Run Clean Script several times, rebooting between runs
4. Install
5. Activate
6. Update
