Is there a way: to be able to copy and paste a particular contour after using live tracing?

Is there a way: to be able to copy and paste a particular contour after using live tracing (“make and expand” command)? I am not able to select a particular contour from the multitude generated after using "rasterize" and then the live tracing "make and expand” command.

    I actually found the answer in the archived forum activity.

    I have to first ungroup the art object and then select.
