Can I lock a shared dps folio to a udid?

Apr 16, 2012 11:19 PM

Greetings,

I am creating a folio for ipad that I would be sharing with a group of people. But I want each one of them to use only on one device.

Is it possible to achieve this? How can I lock folio share with one device per user.

    Can you be a bit more specific about how you're doing this? If you're using the Adobe Content Viewer then no, you cannot do this. You could create a developer version using their UDIDs in the mobile provisioning file but the app would expire in 3 months.

    it's 12 months, for developer build. Don't know when change happened, but for example Testflightapp now writes expiry in 12 months.

    Enterprise customers can use direct entitlement which passes the UDID of the device as an optional parameter to the user authentication call. Then you can match the credentials with the UDID and deny authorization if the login is coming from a 2nd device.

    @ Bob Levine & Martin Lér

    I presume that Developer build shall work good for 12 months, but what happens if the Apple developer account experies before that??

    To my little surprise, it still works until mobileprovision will expire, such a app i can even install from our testflightapp.com account.

    @Martin Lér

    Thanks. Can you please educate me about testflightapp.com. Is it more time and cost effective than the current DPS workflow??

    It's tool for easy distributing of developer version of any iOS app - including DPS viewers. We use it for testing of betas.
