POSSIBLE 100% LOAD ON CPU (NOT SURE)

Apr 19, 2012 11:48 PM

Can someone go to dopehood.com with either of the 11.3 betas or either of the 11.2 releases and see if your cpu hits 100% load, ive been asked to move the thread to here even though it contains a reference to 11.2 also, ive tried both(allversions) 11.2 and 11.3 beta, i dont think its the flashplayer, but i could be wrong as ive not been on this site untill now after updating from 11.1 which then was no problems, ive not found any issues what so ever with 11.3 so its making me wonder if its thwe actuall website and the owner as screwed something up, so theres a job for you beta team, check this website and see if its your versions of flash after 11.1 thats causing 100% load on cpus, never happened to me before ever. Also if anyone as still got 11.1flash player can you try as well to compare please and post your findings incase 11.2 and 11.3 needs fixing.

    Hi boe323,

I have tried the dopehood website with the release 11.2 player as well as the latest 11.3 beta player and I have been unable to reproduce the 100% cpu usage issue, I tested on a Win7 X64 machine with IE9, Firefox11, and Chrome. Could you post your configuration which is experiencing the cpu spike?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hi boe323,

I also see that half of the video appears obstructed when viewing the dopehood website with IE9. I don't think it is a Flash issue though because it is also occurring with Flash Player 11.1 and 11.0.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I see the same overlay problems with Flash Player uninstalled.

As for the load issue, it looks like a javascript thing to me.  The CPU usage with Flash Player 11.3.300.231 is comparable to what I'm seeing with Flash Player uninstalled.

To catch these, I did the following:

    Opened the browser

    Typed in www.dopehood.com

Started the CPU counter in the windows performance monitor

    Hit Enter in Firefox

Pulled the performance monitor back up.

Also, there are probably 15 pages worth of network requests in Firefox for the first page load alone, and then tons of continous traffic -- I'm seeing 100+ additional requests/minute coming from that page.

Google PageSpeed offers up a number of possible optimizations to reduce both load time and CPU usage:
