This is odd...Sometimes Encore CS5.5 will transcode fast, sometimes slow and sometimes it would't transcode at all. (No errors. Seems like the program stop and go to sleep) And this is on the same project without any changes. I just tried to restart my PC, restart Encore several times, and everytime It wil behave differently. Why?
Thanks for your time to answer me
I have tried Transcode Now with both AME and Encore. It doesent help. Source material is Sony XDCAM EX.
"What transcode setting?" What do you mean? Encore will set the transcode settings for me? I choose DVD format, and output to folder. I also tried output to disc and Image, but it makes no difference. But what will you recommend?
So you are making a DVD from HD material. How are you getting the source into Encore? Dynamic Link from Premiere? An intermediate file?
Transcode settings can be "Automatic" (Encore sets a rate to fill the disk), or you can select a preset, or customize a preset.
I do not see any reason the times would vary a lot, except for varying length of the video.
The "sleep" issue you raise makes me wonder if Antivirus or other processes in the background are causing problems.
Im using Dynamic Link from Premiere. And transcode is set to automatic so it fits DVD. I have antivirus turned off, and even network disabled..I also burn BluRay, but no difference. I dont know what it is. I just know its frustrating
Try exporting from Premiere (using AME is fine). MPEG2-DVD preset. Is the slowdown present?
Basic hardware setup? (How many drives, internal/external, etc)
Windows? I would run the PPBM5 to see if there are any performance issues.
These may, or may not, help... but free to read...

Also, make sure you do not have even a 1 frame gap between video files
Thanks for trying to help me out, but i still cant transcoding in Encore from my project with dynamik link in Premiere CS5.5.
But this morning I did an experiment : I export my project in Premiere via Adobe Encoder as BluRay-format. Then import video into a new project in Premiere. Then I try to use dynamic link and burn an BluRay-Image file in Encoder. And it worked well! ..... Maybe Encore cant transcoding some of my clips in Premiere? I know this from older version of Encoder. People was adviced to export the Premiere project , and then import into Encoder as one videofile.
