Text glow is cut off..

I have a 1920x1080 comp that has text in the center with some effects applied to make a halo/glow type effect. Everything looks fine in this comp. I drop into another 1920x1080 comp but the effects are now cut off around the "text perimeter".

 

Original comp where text/effects are created. The blue background is a guide layer.

I'm confused because since the original text comp is 1920x1080, and all of the elements fully fit inside the comp, shouldn't that also transfer (without being cut off) to the new 1920x1080 comp?

    The edges just not visible in the other comp due to a different BG color and thus blending operations looking different. Use the Grow Bounds effect on the text before the glow to avoid such problems.
