Has anyone successfully gotten a BC site to run using jQueryMobile?
Hey Brad,
Yep and seen a number of people also (while not top not with javascript mind and have some niggles) on the old forums using it.
jQuery Mobile is jQuery just without a number of feautres and features more built with mobile devices in mind, it is basiclaly a bit of jQuery and jQuery UI combined but more lightweight.
A lot of developers actually finding they code a lot and not using it any more thought. Responsive and adaptive web design is something more and more people are catching on to unless your specifically having a totally mobile version of something.
One thing I have done and I have seen other developers do is..
I already use plugin and script loading technology to "Lazy Load" Scripts, functions only called when elements exist etc, To go further if your on certain devices and do not need certain things loaded to improve perfomance then you do so, and run or direct to different scripts ![]()
Thanks Liam, but yeah, I am familiar with what jQueryMobile is and it's limitations. I have used it quite a bit on other projects.
The reason I am playing with jQueryMobile for this project is that they require an iPhone and Android App as well. For the most part I have it working. Biggest hurdle is getting detail pages to work. I can show lists etc no problem just can't get to any detail pages that are generated by BC.
I wanted to see if I can get this working before I go with BC for this project. If I can't get it working I will need to go back to regular way of doing things.
