I have been using a tool called Artisteer for Joomla web sites and it has some very cool features. However when I create an HTML to make a template in DW CS5 I can not see any text or make heads or tails of the structure. Artisteer support said that DW does not support some pseudo-classes. I installed CS5.5 Thinking it may have introduced support for those classes but it has not. I am wondering if DW CS6 may include support for those classes? I like using Artisteer to make the template because you can make a killer site in a few minutes. Problem is, after creating the cool template it is too difficult to work with in DW 5.5, so all the time I saved is used up fixing the template so DW displays it correctly. It seems that DW does not support css pseudo-classes like :before and :after
At best, Design View gives a rough approximation of what you can expect to see in browsers. It isn't capable of fully supporting CSS level 3 properties because it isn't a web browser.
Suggest you disable CSS style rendering -- View > Style rendering > un-tick Display Styles. Or use a Design Time Style Sheet.
Use Live View or Preview in browsers to test.
Can't comment on CS6. It isn't out yet.
