Stop Flash  from upgrading to version 11.1

I do not want or need the latest Flash Player on my HTC Desire mobile. It also causes low memory problems on the phone. When I get a new phone with larger memory it will not matter but at present it stops other apps, that I use, from working. Sorry but I very rarely use Flash on my mobile.

 

Unticking "Automatically Update" does not work. Even uninstalling updates only works for a short time because Adobe ignores my instructions not to update.

 

Is there any way to stop this unwanted updating?
