DPS single edition

Just got thru watching the launch event. What did they mean by everyone will have access to DPS single edition? They kept saying something about not being only for professionals. Does it have something to do with the price or do we just have to wait for an official announcement?

I am really hoping for a reduced price per edition!

DPS SE is part of the Creative Cloud, but I have yet to find anything definitive about the number of apps one can create.

Thanks Scott. I like using the DPS to create custom portfolios and turning client static flyers into interactive brochures. I believe a lot of users are doing this.

I have stopped using DPS recently b/c iBooks 2/ibook author has made an easier/faster solution for these interactive brochures and portfolios. If this creative cloud system can some how match the ease of deployment that would be major.

Not sure how realistic this would be. The current process is not bad, but does require a few more steps than ibooks.

Hi Scott

Just checked John Nack blog and says "soon it'll be free, unlimited publications, once you subscribe to Creative Cloud"

I am assuming we can design and submit dps se single branded apps free of charge? Unless we sell them via the app store. I have never tried DPS SE.

Either way this is a great deal.

Hi Ncone1, that's what my impression was as well but before I say "Yes, that is the case" I like to double/triple check because anything I say can come back later, thus the confirmation I'm seeking.

Unlimited. You heard it right. You'll be able to create unlimited numbers of single edition apps with a creative cloud membership. Sell them in the app store or give them away for free.

Thanks John! It should be noted that Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition is not currently part of the Creative Cloud at launch, it will be added later in 2012.

If this doesn’t quiet the “it costs too much” crowd nothing will.

Thank you John.

This is a dealbreaker for DPS.
But, as I always tell my clients: for anything like a magazine, pro edition
gives so much more advantages. multi folio viewer and newsstand are only
two to mention.

I really hope until then device fragmentation problems are fixed in DPS.

Well they are still ripping Aussies off, Creative Cloud downunder $62.99! Current exchange rate Aus Dollar = $1.02 US Dollars, makes you wonder how something in the same cloud costs more here than there!!!

Its a shame.. 30 dollars compared to 38 euro... Why?
And no word on student prices. Its sad that our university pays a lot of money per year and the students are not allowed to use it... 29 euro is a fair deal. Even for students. 25 wold be even better. But 38 is too much for now... (and thats only the reduced price...)

Indeed !

But rest assured, as I showed CS6 yesterday to a bunch of 50 people
(thrilling, first time in public, without NDA's, and with all new demo files),
most of them were pleasantly shocked by the moderate price of CC !
And I didn't even told them about pending inclusion of Single Editions.

Many people will look at this as unlimited apps for $50/month and Adobe is even throwing in the Master Collection and touch apps and Muse and Edge and Typekit and.....

Hi Bob
Do you know how many licenses you get with each creative cloud account. In other words, can I install on my desktop and my laptop from 1 account?

Or do I have to do purchase 2 creative cloud accounts.

Could not find that info in the faqs sections.

You get two activations for a single user just like the perpetual license, but with Creative Cloud you can choose Mac and Windows...a very big benefit for anyone working crossplatform.

Sorry John. Before V23 i can not sell my Single Edition, is this correct?
Single edition (single folio) was only free - can you confirm?
