I just tried converting http://in.yahoo.com/?p=us which has a lot of gif images in it. The pages converts cuccessfully with all the gif iages intact in the converted PDF.
This does not seem to be generic issue but could be specific to the web page that you are trying to convert. Could you please share the URL that you are trying to convert ?
The original problem arose for internally generated HTML for reports which contain proprietary data. I’ll try to generate
a sanitized set that I can give to you. This process worked through Acrobat 9 and we have not changed anything about
the way we generate the HTML. All that is different now is that we have switched to Acrobet X and it does not work
with our gif files. If we convert them to PNG or JPEG, it works just fine.
Give me a couple of days to get back to you with an example.

Thanks William for your reply. Please do send me the test file to help me replicate the problem. I'll wait for your response.
