Creating several images on a canvas in CS4

I'm fairly new to CS4 and want to put 5 images onto a canvas. 4 images wiill form the background and  an image in a diamond shape will be in the middle of the group.  I'm not sure how to do this.  I'm stuck trying to put an image into a diamond shape.  Would appreciate any help or suggestions.
