Why do the SAVE and OPEN dialogs lose my manual layout settings & revert to default layout settings

Audition 3.01

 

Used this a tremendous amount for years and it has worked very well.

 

Suddenly it has developed a silly habit. 

 

It insists on its default settings in its file dialogs such as the SAVE and OPEN dialogs.  I can change the layout settings as much as I want but  the next time I open the dialog, it has reverted to the default layout.

 

Something has gone wrong, it never used to do this - is there a cure for this?

    Probably the easiest thing for you to do is to re-establish the defaults for Audition. You need to reset the application data files according to the information in this FAQ. There's a good chance that this will stop this behaviour. If for some reason this doesn't work, then uninstall and reinstall the software - although this is in extremis - you shouldn't have to go this far.
