Rather than rotating everything in the world about a point which would get really complicated, I figured it would be easier to simply rotate the gravity!

So I have gravity in my 3D World (using the standard Physics Xtra that comes with D11.5) and I have the gravity as a vector pointing downwards:

pPhysics.gravity = vector( 0.0, 0.0, -9.81 )

And so I want to rotate the gravity a few degrees about any x y axis.

I've been getting really really stuck on this.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Trevor

Google Chrome and even IE works fine.
Sometimes Firefox repositions the overlay at the top left corner instead of the center with 2 overlay areas (top & center). If I move the cursor the position is corrected.
Details: Firefox 3.6.13, Shockwave 11.5.9.615

It's still in development, and we're adding new things all the time.

WarMaker - Play Now

Working with W3D

The modelling is clean but very detailed.

I am using Maya 2011 to do the modelling.

Has anyone got a free and decent way of converting to w3d?

Is there a way to convert several w3d files (all small) and combine them in Director?

Thanks

Automatic series of animations

Hi, I don't know if this can be done. But any advice or help would be hugely greatful.

This is what I have:

     - A 3D model of a town

     - A number of animations of a person such as walking (of various lengths e.g. 2m, 5m, 10m) talking on phone, looking around, calling a cab etc

     - Each start and end frame of the animations are all the same so that 1 can lead directly off the other - smooth transition.

What I am trying to do:

     - The user to my site selects a first animation, then a second, and third and so on.

     - This will probably be stored in a global variable for example: "walk,phone,look_around"

     - The person in the scene then needs to do all these animations in that order automatically with the town scene behind her.

     - I do not know where to start and have no idea how 'phone someone' can be run after 'walking' as the end point (co-ordinates) of 'walking' (the first animation in this example) will probably be different in every animation.

     - The camera cannot fix on the person, they must be walking away or towards the camera.

I'm sorry if this does not make much sense. Thankyou

Is this possible?

Hi everyone.

I haven't been on these forums in many years. I used to use Director a lot many years ago. Maybe even 10 years ago! The last version I used was 8.5. I'm now using 11.5. So I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.

I'm working on a project which is focused on a 3D object that consists of many smaller objects. Think of it as a sphere with a segmented shell. I've constructed my object/s in 3D MAX and have been able to export as W3D, and then import that into Director. However before I get too carried away I have a few questions I hope can be answered.

My end goal is to have my 3D object interactive enough to a point where it appears in front of the camera and can be rotated in all directions by the mouse. I also want to have the smaller segmented objects clickable and be able to perform various functions. There is no moving of the objects involved, they should all stick closely together as a group.

So my first question is, will I need to import each segment object into Director and then assemble them? Or can I import my objects as one W3D file into Director and make just certain sections of the objects interactive / clickable?

Thanks in advance!
