I have been getting calls from my users that tell me that videos will not show up since they updated their Shockwave.

I have tested it here and with an older version of Shockwave, everything is fine but when I updated, the video no longer displayed.

The audio does play but no video.
Does the same on all browsers.

Adobe, please fix this asap!!!!!!

So, first of all, this is my first time posting here. Thank you all in advance for reading this. I've read through all the troubleshooting pages on Adobe's site but can't seem to work my way around this. I do have Adobe Shockwave (not Flash) installed on my computer since I primarily use it for http://www.isketch.net which is an online form of Pictionary, rather ancient site, but still fun to play around with. Anyways, I have version 12.1.3 installed since June 2014. All of a sudden, tonight, the site tells me I need to install the plugin. I go and see it is already enabled under "Manage Add-ons" in the Tools section of my IE11 browser.

Also, I was thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that might help, but the get.adobe shockwave page redirects me to something about 64-bit browsers even though I always use 32-bit and am using it right now. So what options do I have here? Thank you in advance!

I recently had to reinstall my hard drive and, thus, installed the latest version of Shockwave Player. The installation seemed to proceed normally; however, when I attempt to access a site that uses Shockwave, I get the following error message:

Missing Shockwave Decompression XTRA

When I click OK, I get the error message:

Error playing Director movie.

I'm running Windows XP, with IE 8.0. I have attempted to uninstall Shockwave, but can't find it anywhere on my add/delete programs menu. All my other Adobe programs are there, just not Shockwave. I have attempted to reinstall Shockwave, and after clicking on "agree and install", it goes directly to "in order to install Shockwave, you must restart computer". Upon restarting, I'm back at square one: same error messages and no way to fix it.

Recently upgraded to Yosemite OS X 10.10. Whenever Safari is opened, most sites have some sort of Shockwave needed. The most specific is Apple's. Whenever I open the homepage, Apple and the homepage to Dashboard Widgets, Apple - Downloads - Dashboard, I receive several popup windows

Hi folks, ever since I upgraded my Mac to OS X Yosemite whenever I am using Chrome (which is always) Shockwave crashes sooner or later, every single day - sometimes twice.

Is there a fix for this?

I read some oldish stuff on this site http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/internet/3332967/how-stop-shockwave-flash-crashing-in-go ogle-chrome/ that says there is a conflict with the Shcokwave plug-ins for the other browsers and to delete them, but I use them too - sometimes at the same tiime.

Heey there,

I have encounterd an installation issue when I try to install Adobe Shockwave Player on MSIE 11 in Windows 8.1 (Update 1).

I neither cannot download nor installing it.

The Adobe FAQ tells me to use the 32-bit version of MSIE, but even then Adobe Shockwaves keeps refusing of being installed in this browser.

I am running Windows 8.1 (Update 1) on a 64 bit machine.

The current installed version of MSIE is: 11.0.9600.17351

If you need any additional information releated to this issue, please let me know.

I downloaded Shockwave Player 12.1 but when I go to install it it asks "How do you want to install this software?" and it gives me the option of selecting my Mac drive but then gives me an error that says "Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1 can't be installed on this disk. So I'm trying to install shockwave player but when I get to the destination select part I can not click on any of the disk and continue.For the macintosh Hd disk it says : adobe shockwave not supported on this OS version

After that flash player update, there was no audio in Firefox or BBC iPlayer.

After uninstalling Flash Player, the sound was restored for BBC iPlayer.

I can only suppose there is some dire problem with that particular version.

Upgraded to Win7 and IE11, at some point lost sound from videos. Current Adobe flash player is 15. Music files are ok. If I unplug the stereo speaker jack the sound will play for the video running at that time. Video ends no more sound. I will get an "decode error" message on video screen after unplugging. Reinstalling sound driver did not work.

I am running Win7/IE11. However, with a prior FLASH update problem, I had to delete Shockwave, using Adobe's 'uninstaller'. I was successful in updating FLASH, but when I try to reinstall SHOCKWAVE, the screen instantly flashes INSTALLATION COMPLETE (no progress bar at all). And Shockwave no longer appears in PROGRAMS & FEATURES. Plus, I get no 'animations' on Adobe's 'test' page.

Does anyone have any advice/directions for a clean and working install of Shockwave? And what is the latest version of Shockwave?

Over the course of the last 3-4 months, my flash player has become very unreliable. I am running into constant crashes, and my browsers have become unresponsive regularly.

I have uninstalled both Firefox and Chrome, uninstalled all flash software then reinstalled it, and checked my plugins on the browsers to ensure that only one version of flash is running.

Any flash heavy web page on average crashes at least once when I open it, usually multiple times. I have included the different specs for my computer below.

Are there any suggestions to try to fix the problem? I'm having a very difficult time performing even basic web browsing right now.

Processor: AMD A8-4500M APU with Radeon(tm) HD

Graphics 1.90 GH

OS: Windows 8.1

I am running on Windows 7 using Chrome. I am doing a course where I need to send information from my webcam to a website. I downloaded Flash Player and somewhere on the website it had a section where it had the address of the university. It also had another address not applicable so I deleted that and in doing so also deleted the address of the uni. I know diddly squat about both the webcam and Flash and am really running out of time to submit my assignments. Flash did unload on my computer, but to where, I have no idea. I have done searches but it nothing. So that took most of yesterday. Today, I researched it further and it was suggested that Flash was incorporated in Google and was enabled by fault and included in Chrome system updates. So I went into plug ins and find the Flash listing is enabled. There is also only one listing on the plug ins in spite of me downloading one yesterday and it is supposed to be on Chrome as well. .Bottom line ..... how do Flash and the webcam work together? How do I reinstall the university's web address on Flash, does it automatically attach itself to webcam and then do I get the option of who I share my webcam work with. Hope you can understand all this because I can't and I am getting a mighty nervous about getting these assignments out. Many thanks

I'm using the Shockwave ActiveX Control in a Windows Application. This works pretty well since a year ago. I've used Shockwave 11 and 12.0 successful. But yesterday i've updated to version 12.1r150 and now i'm getting an exception as soon as i call OLEIVERB_INPLACEACTIVATE (Access violation at 0791C5DB in Module 'SwDir_1210150.dll'). Even the Opera (20.0.1387.82) crashes if open this http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ page.

It looks like a bug in the Shockwave Control. Can anybody confirm this or has any advises for me? I'm using Win7 Enterprise 64Bit.

Have had a working .dcr in a windows forms application to support a larger GUI application requirement. After updating to the latest Shockwave Player, ithe application crashes when attempting to load the .dcr using activeX control. Started an empty project, added Shockwave COM Object to toolbox, and when attempting to drop the control on the windows form, Visual Studio crashes. This worked with previous shockwave player versions including 12.0. Any insight would be appreciated.

I have an Acer Laptop Windows 8, and I believe Flash Player is already installed in this.

However, I keep getting messages telling me to get Flash Player in order to view an online video.

I think I may have accidentally uninstalled Adobe, but the system is still telling me I have Flash Player.

Further more, I am not as computer literate as some of you good people and I'm having problems how to use this site as I've never used a forum before now.

It was working fine earlier today, on Google Chrome. But for some reason it stopped and now I get a something asking if i want to stop the plugin because it is not responding. I am trying to update to the latest version of Flash Player. I have version 15.0.0.152, IE 11, Win 7. I double click on the installation file, it says "Retrieving Install", but after about 1 minute I get the following message: "Error has been encountered. Please close this window and try again." I'm using the Flash Player ActiveX within my windows application (not a browser and has no interaction with the internet). My application runs continuously on Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2 as an operator interface to machinery. I use Flash Player to display animations of the machniery. When the machne is running, the respective file plays. When it stops, I stop the player. At first the files play properly. After a month or so, they slow down and in some cases can actually stall. System resources look fine whether the files are playing properly or not.

I first installed version 10 and have over time experienced the same proplems with all version up to 14. The only way I can find to get them working properly again is to restart my application. If I open the file in IE8 at the same time it is running poorly in my application, it runs fine in IE8. Any suggestion as to what may be causing this?

In Internet Explorer, Windows 7, 64 bit, The site Youtube.com plays videos fine, but Break.com has only sound, no picture. This same computer plays the break videos in Chrome. Also, the Flash Player Manager does not show the Settings Manager image in IE, but does in Chrome. Everything is the latest version, re-downloaded many times.

Opera has Shockwave installed but on Adobe's Shockwave welcome page, It blinks on the screen for a second & then disappears.

On the Shock help page, when I clicked Test, the installing Shockwave box came up again, when I scrolled to the bottom where the picture was suppose to be I had to refresh the page before the movie showed.

I then visited a site that had a Shockwave movie & a flash movie, the Flash movie was playing, the Shockwave one said Shockwave plug-in is not installed?! This is after downloading & installing the Stand alone installer before I even got the blink on the shockwave welcome page in the first place. So I clicked on the Shockwave movie & it installed Shockwave AGAIN! At least it then played the Shockwave movie.

So every new site I go to that has Shockwave content either blinks then disappears or forces Opera to reinstall Shockwave again!

This is so wrong on so many ways. Any ideas?

For about 2 weeks now, I keep getting this pop up box that says:

Warning: Unresponsive Plugin

Shockwave Flash may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the plug now, or you can continue to see if the plugin will complete.

Everytime it happens which is muiltiple times an hour and on any web page that has flash I am assuming, everything freezes up before the box pops up, during and after for a few mins. Sometimes my browser does not unfreeze, and I have to open my task manager to close it down. I have tried finding ways to fix this, but no luck. I found this EXACT SAME question asked a few times in THESE forums, and no answers given to those people, so I HOPE I get the help here...

I am using windows 7 home premium 64 bit, & firefox is my browser. Everything is up to date, adobe flash ( 11.7.700.169 ), firefox ( 20.0.1 ), and etc... adobe flash IS enabled, same as the plugin.

Some of the things I have tried so far...

hardware acceleration - is already off

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling adobe flash many times, I have also tried this with my anti virus turned off first.

I even tried uninstalling adobe flash, and my firefox browser, then reinstalling adobe first, and then firefox after (I also did this in reverse, installing firefox then adobe flash)

*on other thing I wanted to mention is in my "flash player settings manager" under the advance tab, it says that "active x" is not installed.

The video's seem to not fit in the screens correctly. Started only on internet explorer and now on firefox. Chrome seems to be the only one I can watch any type of video clip on. It's like the picture is too large so I see a huge distorted nose when I should see the full body of a person. I have uninstalled adobe and reinstalled to no avail. Checked all my drivers and they are up to date. All the help searches are coming up with nothing and I am tired of searching. Is there a bug with the latest flash player? I have explorer 11 and windows 7. Running on 32 bit.

The problem first appeared in Firefox. I updated as directed, attempted to run the test, but kept getting crashes. Switched to ie, same thing. Switched to chrome, which seemed to work for awhile, then it too went down in flames. Per Chrome's support page, I alternately disabled the native chrome shockwave, which seemed to work for about three hours, then disabled the windows shockwave installation, the same. I have scanned for malware, viruses, spyware, old software installs that might conflict with chrome, Upgraded the users system ram (in case it was a resource issue), removed and reinstalled all browsers.

Short of blowing away everything and restoring to factory fresh, nothing works. There are entries on this issue ALL OVER THE WEB: Has it occurred to anyone at Adobe that so pervasive a problem might be on THEIR end? Since there seems to be no real alternative to your products for the average user. and none of the fixes work, perhaps the releases are corrupt?

(p.s.- I have a degree in computer sciences, Microsoft certifications up the wazoo, and have more than 20 years working experience in IT management : I am NOT an average user, and I would like some help.)

help with Shockwave player reinstall

I recently updated my system (PC, Windows 7, updated to IE 11), and the shockwave player needed to be updated. Tried to do that, but won't work. My system is 64 bit, but the IE 11 running is 32 bit version. Tried numerous ways to update, then I removed and tried to install new, but it still won't work. Help!

BTW, it also messed with my Adobe Reader within some programs, and I had to install a new one, which seemed to work okay.

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro installed on this laptop.

何かほかに方法があるのでしょうか。
