Output Designer 5.5 or Later needed to import .IFD

Can anyone help resolve. I receive the follwoing error in LiveCycle ES2, "Output Designer 5.5 or Later needed to import .IFD". All searches to purchase OutputDesigner 5.5 or later resulted in links to landing pages for LiveCycle Designer ES4. So i bought ES4 thinking that it was a resolved issue and ES4 was what i needed, but I still get that alert. Please advise

Fonts not embedding consistently - Livecycle Output Service

The Livecycle Output Service is configured to Always embed specific fonts. When I attempt to generate PDF from XDP using the Java API, I find that in 99+ percent of the PDFs generated, the font is embedded. In less than 1%, the fonts are not embedded ( as shown by a lack of "(Embedded Subset)" in Adobe Reader XI's "Document Properties..." window's Fonts tab ). In all cases, the font is explicitly identified for both Text objects and for Floating Fields and all Floating Fields are populated. I can't reproduce this behavior by previewing in either Adobe Livecycle Designer ES4 or generating single PDFs using the Server's Output Service. It only occurs when generating notices at volume (>1000 notices).

Has anybody else experienced this? What are some potential root causes?

Hi

Can anyone tell me what "XFA template Model is empty" means in this exception? I'm trying to render a xdp through Form Server.

ERROR [FormServerException] ALC-FRM-001-013: XMLFormFactory, PAexecute failure: "(com.adobe.document.xmlform.ReturnStatus@11d16b9) XMLForm, load : 12309, XFA template Model is empty."

Hi,

My name is Shawn and I work for Pfizer, an enterprise client of yours. We have thousands of LifeCycle licenses, but I don't know whom to contact to get support so I'm posting my question here.

I am creating a PDF form that lets the user check a box when the want to select a web metric they need set up for their website. What I'd like to do is, once a user has checked this box (there are over 100), all the boxes they've checked out of the 100 or so metrics pop-up / show up / dynamically generate at the bottom page, and have additional checkboxes next to them for the development teams "eyes only" that they will have to in turn, when the form is emailed to them filled out, select TEST and VERIFY checkbox for each metric showing that they've tested and verified the metric was configured, and then a text field prompting them to say HOW they tested and verified / what method.

How do I do this using LiveCycle?

Cannot upload a pdf file created with LifeCycle designer ES 10.0

I am trying to upload a pdf document but each time I have the following error message:

I tried many tricks like changing the acrobat plugin and using the default PDF viewer instead, I uninstalled and reinstalled all the Firefox plugins, I tried to upload it from IE... but none of these succeeded. I have the latest version of acrobat reader 11.0.7 and the pdf document id secured by a password and was generated using Adobe LifeCycle designer ES 10.0. How can I solve this issue? Inconvenient results with printing forms LiveCycle Output ES4

Hello,

I have a issue case with LiveCycle Output ES4. I was testing some printing

jobs using default XDC that comes with LiveCycle ES4 installation, but I got

inconvenient results when sending the job to print. The form layout, xml

data and logos have been moved into the printed form, so they don't appear

as should be at design time.

The printer is a Sharp - MX M264N that supports PCL 5e, PCL 6. My customer

have the same design but IFD Form in Adobe Central Output with HPLJ4

selected option as a profile printer in Presentment Targets and it works

fine. ¿Would I need a HPLJ4 XDC in order to obtain the same result just as

in Adobe Central?, ¿What could it be the cause of this behavior?.

I’ll appreciate any response.

Hi all,

I was testing some printing jobs using default XDC that comes with LiveCycle ES4 installation (hppcl5c.xdc, hppcl5e.xdc and hp4350pcl5e.xdc), but i got Inconvenient results when sending the job to print; xml data and logo have been moved into the printed form causing they don't match with the form components as should be at design time. Consulting SAP documentation for Adobe Document Services, it says that there should be XDC files that are shipped for diferent device types like POST2, HPLJ4, HP9500, etc. I'm using a Sharp - MX M264N printer that supports PCL 5e, PCL 6. I have the same design but IFD Form in Adobe Central Output with HPLJ4 selected option as device printer in Presentment Targets and it works fine. ¿Where can i find a XDC library or a HPLJ4 XDC in order to obtain the same result just as in Adobe Central?

Script run before transformPDF service

I am having a problem with the transformPDF service. Basically, script is being run in the docReady of the PDF that I am trying to flatten. The script is throwing an error in the logs, but returns a flattened PDF, with some values missing. The script that is running is meant for and runs fine when the client opens the pdf, but I do not want this code running when I send it to transformPDF. In other words, the PDF I send transformPDF is the PDF I want flattened, without any further processing being done to it. Any ideas how to accomplish this?

Alignment of text boxes and output from dot matrix printer

I have pre-printed carbonless forms and I use a dot matrix printer for printing. About 2 years ago, I purchased LiveCycle ES2 and had a developer create a pdf form so I can type in the information and print on the dot matrix. It all worked well until the fall of 2013 when a printer driver messed up the alignment of the form. I downloaded the new driver and the issue was corrected for almost 6 months. However, recently what I type on the form is misaligned on the print out and the driver fix is not working this time. I don't understand what could have changed and I haven't made any changes on the fillable form. We did join our two computers to a small network around the time the issues started appearing. Does anyone have any suggestions about fixing alignment issues?

QR code types and versions supported by ES3

Hi,

we use LiveCycle ES3 Output service and templates developed with Livecycle Workbench and Designer 10 to generate PDF files.

1. What types of read-only QR codes are supported by these tools? I could not find specifics for this in the documentation. The code should be able to contain a URL, but how long it can be etc. depends on the type and max version.

2. The end users sometimes use older versions of Adobe Reader. Can any Reader version (v7 upwards) show read-only QR codes (I suppose yes, because it's only an image)?

Need help with adding form fields to PDF created in InDesign that includes links

I created a collateral piece in InDesignCC that includes hyperlinks and bookmarks - I then used LiveCycle to add an image field and text field to the front cover so our sales folks can customize it before use - the sales people with Reader can't save it without the hyperlinks and bookmarks being lost. Anyone have an option on how to fix that?

I have an older version of LiveCycle Design. I imported an existing PDF file, created some interactive text field including an email and print button. When I filled out the form as a test and emailed it, I got only the data. Will the ES4 allow me to send the entire PDF file or is there another solution?

I am a beginner with LiveCycle with no training at all.

ZPL problem with layout A5 landscape

The data in my ZPL is not complete. I generate ZPL using GeneratePrintedOutput2. I use the zpl300.xdc.

The XDP size is DIN A5 page orientation is landscape. When I switch it to page orientation = portait the data is complete. Does Adobe ZPL not work with XDP-layouts using size DIN A5 (height 148mm x width 210mm) and page orientation = landscape? Can it be fixed by changing the XDC ?

Printsubmitter out of memory error

Hi,

I am facing a printsubmitter error message in my Process that calls the output service to merge data from an xml input file with the XDP to generate a PDF document.

The upstream process (run by a scheduler wait every 1 min) calls a small java DSC to generate the XML from from a database and puts it in the watched folder for the process that is failing. A large number of documents have to be generated (over 10,000) and this is done one at a time. This works well for the first 5-600 files and then all files start giving printsubmitter errors like below.

At this point I am not sure if this is a problem related the database connection, memory, or the XML file generated. Do I need to increase memory to the forms service? how can this be done?

I am attaching one of the failure logs below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
