Need help in troubleshooting the security features of livecycle ES2. The settings would not stay after I close the file.

In the past I was able to set properties for the PDF Security that includes features to allow users to access printing and make entry to form fields. This allows users to be able to use the forms I created to full extent but will not be able to edit the layout unless they have the password. However, lately, once I closed the document, anyone is able to open the document without a password. Any idea what happened or even bettr how to correct this?

The latest version of Reader Mobile iOS (11.6) support certificate-based authentication (for LiveCycle RightsManagement server)?

The previous release (10.1) say: "Support for our other LiveCycle authentication types may appear in future releases, including Kerberos, Smartcard/PKI certificate-based authentication, SAML-based authentication, or other SSO mechanisms."

Now in 11.6 certificate-based authentication is enabled?

I have a fresh installation of Adobe LC ES4 SP1 with Jboss 5.20 in cluster , every thing is running correctly, but signed document can not be retrrieved by the adobe reader as apparently the base_url of adobe LC ES4 server is not set.

Whne using the adminui I could not find a place to set this up. In precedent versions it was under Home > Services > LiveCycle Rights Management ES4 > Configuration > Server Configuration , Yet this area "Server Configuration" is missing, just because when I click Home > Services > LiveCycle Rights Management ES4 it send me back to the the area Home > Services >, the admui is not expanding as expected , it just loops instead.

how can I fix this behavior ?

I want to protect the file from being shared after it is purchased. Will LiveCycle do this?

Acrobat XI Pro will protect from printing, copy/paste, editing but not sharing.

I will buy LiveCycle if it will do what i need.

I have gone through the rights management flow of Livecycle for microsoft office extension.

However, was interested to know about is there any app or SDKs supported by livecycle on mobile devices(android).

Case study of rights management shows that live cycle has deployed and offered solutions in mobile devices using SDKs. However, couldn't find any resources or documents regarding the same.

Do I really need Rights Management just to add an expiry date on a pdf which can be viewed on multiple devices?

Hi, I have managed to add an expiry date to a pdf simply by adding some javascript. However, this does not seem to work when the pdf is opened on an iPad/iPhone etc. Is LiveCycle Rights Management the only option?

In regards to the audit trail feature, I know that RM will show who accessed a document and what events took place. If a document collects data that is entered by the user, and later changes that data within the same document, will the audit trail show the original data as well as the new data in the report?

I've been tryiong to a print secured document through Adobe Livecycle’s web service interface (Digital Rights Management and OutputService).

I made a research in the documentation of the livecycle’s web services and founded some methods about printing PDF files (sendToPrinter).

I developed a standalone application that prints a PDF file using the webservices, but it did not worked with a document with a security policy applied to it.

Did you know anyway to print a secured pdf using livecycle rights management webservices or any other RTP?

Prevent "Print to File" and "Print to PDF" actions from Print only office excel/word files.

Hi,

For Print only MS Office word/excel files, you can select 'Adobe PDF' (if you have Adobe Pro installed) or 'Microsoft XPS' as the printer on the Print dialog box and save the document. can we prevent this. This is not possible for Print only PDF file. So PDF files work fine. But Microsoft files don't work correctly and you can print 'Print only' Word/Excel file to a new XPS document or to a new PDF and save in the local disk.

Already setup RightManagement (trial), and try to understand how it can be useful in my cases.

I have created simple policy that enables access to pdf content, and encrypt pdf on it.

First thing that I can't get is how to enable preview of pdf content using different file browsers (windows explorer, mac ifinder) (even when use an anonymous user).

I'm having problems with the Rights Management Office Plugin. Adobe Pro is working fine and connected properly with the LiveCycle server, but when i try to configure the LiveCycle Server in the Office Plugin (in the office 32 bit version) i get an error about the certificate, something like "It was not possible to find the site certificate, contact your administrator..." any ideas of why is this happening?

I'm trying create a process to automatically create Rights Manager policies for specific users.

It seems the only way to do this is use a create a policy from an existing policy and within that activity set the user for whom I want the policy to apply ( e.g. only they can open the document ).

All going fine - except the variable to define the user ( or users ) is an IUserlist type ( com.adobe.livecycle.userlist.IUserlist ) for which I can't find any documentation regarding it's input parameters.

I've tried all sorts to get around this, but to no avail - does anyone know what the properties of the com.adobe.livecycle.userlist.IUserlist is so that I can set them through xPath?

COM object model not functioning after encrypting the word document using office extention

After encrypting A word document using office extention, it seems like the COM object model becomes unusable. I cannot not manipulate the encrypt document through COM interface, nor can I write macro VBScript to do some operation on the docuent.

For example, I create a word Macro with some simple code.

If the document is not encrypt, then we will see a msgbox which tells us the number of bookmarks in the current document.

Now, encrypt the word document using the office extention, running the macro code will fail with error code " 80004005" and error message:Method 'Fields' of bject 'ThisDocument' failed.

It is very important for us to manipulate word documents through COM interface in our system, I want to know why the COM interface does not work anymore after the document is encrypted.

I am currently looking for a way to be able to send our clients PDFs of our training material, rather than printing and shipping them.

In the past we have done this, and have found our material on a file sharing website.

Does LiveCycle give us the ability to restrict who can open the PDFs, but not using a password? So if someone uploads or forwards on our documents, they will be useless unless we grant them permision?

Hi Guys,

various bits of documentation refer to being able to put a users email address into the watermark as part of a policy.

However the only options appear to be:

User Name
User ID
Policy Name
Current Date and
Custom Text

Is there a special variable that I can use in the Custom Text?

I could use the email address as the UserID, but this isn't ideal...

I'm trying not to have to use the WorkBench or any custom code (it's really not my area).

How does Rights Managament handle office files containing OLE objects?

I tried to encrypt those office flies that contain multiple OLE objects but it failed. I wondered if those OLE objects caused this problem so I removed them out of files. Then the encryption process worked fine again. However I'm not sure OLE object is the root cause. Is anyone know the process how rights management handle these kind of office files?

Can Rights Managamenet skip the OLE objects and still make those offce files encrypted successfully?

What roles assignments for Rights Management?

System: Adobe LiveCycle Server ES3 system.

Question and Issue: I need to create a user that is able to manage the settings via the web administrator (adminui) for:

1. Policies

2. Documents

3. Events

4. Watermarks

However this user must not have the abiltiy to change the server configuration, key management, etc that is most of the stuff in the "LiveCycle Rights Management->Configuration" page except for "Watermarks".

I had assigned this user the following Role Assignments:

1. Rights Management Policy Set Administrator

2. Rights Management Invite User

3. Rights Management End User

4. Rights Management Manage Invited and Local Users

The above lists works for most part except this user is unable to configure/manage the Watermarks. The ability to configure/manage Watermarks is critical in our scenario.

I found that by assigning this user the "Rights Management Super Administrator" role, it would allow this user the "Watermark" capability; however it also allows the user other capabilities that we do not want the user to manage/configure. I believe the "Rights Manage Configuration" permission gives this role the ability to configure all aspects of the Rights Management.

So is there a permission that just allows the user the ability to configure just the "Watermark"? Is this configuration even possible?

I am using Adobe LifeCycle ADEP and I am having trouble deploying the adobe-rightsmanagement-jboss-dsc.jar file using ADEP Document Services - Configuration Manager. I have dumped some of the server log that includes some information on what is possibly going wrong. I need help interpreting the log and I was wondering is anyone here can help.

My JBoss implentation is running fine on a 64-bit Linux VM. The only jar file that fails to deploy is the rights management jar file. Any insight into this is greatly appreciated.
