How can I allow the application to line through a field that has been locked after being digitally signed?

We have multiple sections on a form with some fields being proposed information and other in another section having the approved information. once the approved information is entered we line through the proposed field so the data entry clerk won't pick up the wrong information. However we are receiving an error when attempting to enter data in the field which we have this edit. Error property: line through cannot be set because doing so would violate the document permission setting. any idea how we can get around this issue?

I'm struggling to nail down a solution using Adobe LiveCycle to digitally sign a PDF (CAC certificate) via a web application (ASP.NET). I've researched a handful of options, and I seem to run into limitations with all of them. I would really appreciate it if anyone has done something like this and can give me a general description of the solution. I'm relatively new to this, and most of the information I find is either too detailed (misses the big picture), or too general with no specifics.

Things I've tried:

1) Using the digital signature service to automatically sign the document server-side. I've reached the conclusion that this is not possible, since I don't have the ability to store the private keys necessary to create the signature on my server (They are accessed through a card reader).

2) Present the PDF to the user in reader to be signed and then submitted with a submit button on the form. Can this even be done? I read somewhere that you can't use web services endpoints to send back a PDF with a signature.

My last resort is to have our users manually sign, save, and upload the document through a web form. I really want to avoid forcing users to perform so many manual steps.

Any info is greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance!

setting up the signature field to work with Entrust

Good afternoon everyone,

Im looking into signautres today and i would like to get a complete walkthrough as to what i need to setup under the signature fields when i press the "settings" button.

Right now there's a bunch of tabs that are available but i hhave no idea what information is required under each one in order to have the Entrust key work with them

My goal is, right now, is to just setup the signature field so that it uses Entrust certificate info of the user trying to sign my form. I have no idea how to get this started

I found my Entrust digiture signature file, i think its got the following extension: .p7c but that dont seem to be enuff to get me going.

When i press into the signature field, i want to populate this one automatically based on the user's entrust cerficate info, Help!!!!!

If you need more details, i will gladly add it to the post. I just really want this to work

I have a form that I would like to restrict singing it to certain certificates.

I tried to check the box under Signature Settings/Signing certificates/Specify the Signing Certificates.

every time I check the box and then OK I come back to the setting and I see the check box unchecked

and then I was able to sign the document with different certificate after the distribution.

could you elaborate me how to solve the issue

Hi All,

Pdf signature verification service is giving "IDENTRUS_OCSP_COMPLIANCE_FAILED" as a failure reason.

In PDF signature verification result, i am getting "ALC-DSS-111-004 - must sign ocsp request" as status message.

This process was giving proper verification output before purging operation.

I have change the signature service settings in AdminUI of adobe live cycle. I have purge certificate cache as well as ocsp cache. Is this reason why i am getting the error.

Will anybody explain the solution to overcome this issue?

Multiple signatures, first signs fine, but won't submit via email

I have a form with three digital signatures. After the first person signs, they click submit to send to the next person who will sign. That person clicks submit after they sign to send the form to HR. However, when the first person signs and clicks submit, the email process opens successfully, but never sends because the message says two signatures are unsigned. This is a true and valid state, but I need the submit button to work even though the additional two signatures to be signed in order.

FYI, I do have a collections set up on the first two signatures to lock all fields except the signatures and radio buttons on the second signature.

I have created a form that requires multiple signatures. I send a link out with a request for review/sign off...and if more than one person has it open, only the first person that opened it can sign it. People are complaining because they have to remember and come back to it later. Is there a way to set this so that mulitple people can open and sign it at once?

I have a windows 7 computer with a new printer. I have adobe reader 9 installed on the computer. I can see a digital signature on the screen even in the print preview, but it will not print. I can print the signature from a computer running XP! Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you!

I currently use both Abobe Acrobat XI and Livecycle Designer ES4.

When i want to add the option to completely lock down a document after digitally signing (inc disabling of the 'clear signature' option) i execute javascript within the properties of the digital signature which works fine no problem.

Im lead to believe that Livecycle will remove any scripting from a pdf created within acrobat as it uses its own flavour so to speak.

My question is, does anybody know what the Livecycle equivalent is to have the option of locking after signing (as image) and disable the 'clear signature' feature post signing?

Any feedbcak is appreciated.

I have a workflow built using Process Management and is available through Workspace. A claimant completes their expense report, digitally signs the form and submits it to their approver. The form is setup to lock a set of fields after signature. The approver then has the option to approve or disapprove the form. When they disapprove the workflow clears the digital signature using Clear Signature Field operation in the SignatureService and routes it back to the claimant. When the form is opened by the claimant the digital signature has been cleared as expected, but the fields are still locked. Is there an autoamted way to unlock them? Is this a service configuration issue or is there another service operation we need to call after clearing the signature?

We did try using Javascript to set the readonly property on the field with no luck. Any thoughts?

We are developing on ES3 and will be upgrading to ES4 in the next week.

I have a problem with my digital signature fields. Whenever the user digitally signs the form, there is a message that says that the form is "Signed and all signatures are valid, but with unsigned changes after the last signature". When I open the signature panel (in Adobe Reader or in the Preview PDF tab of Livecycle) the form indicates that a bunch of fields located on the Master Page were deleted and then added (see below). Does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it?

I'm trying to use the Digital Signature service to sign a PDF document using a CAC card from a .NET web application. At the moment, I'm just using a sample PDF that I created in LiveCycle Designer with a signature field. I'm retrieving the users CAC certificate and calling the service from my web application, but I'm getting errors related to alias and SPIName (I'm not even sure what this is).

Does the signer's private key need to reside on (or provide direct access to) my LiveCycle server? I was under the impression that I could pass all of the necessary credentials to create a signature into the Digital Signature service, but I'm starting to think that's not the case. All of the documentation I've been able to find seems too detailed, but I'm missing the big picture. Can someone please explain the parts and pieces to this in general terms? I don't think there is a way to import CAC private keys onto a server.

How can I duplicate a signature?

The project I am working on has a few times where this shows up. The signature on the first page carries over to the second and 3rd pages. I know how to duplicate the other fields with the Global option but is it possible to allow a signature to do the same thing. So once the first page has been signed it will automatically sign the last 2 pages?

i tried to add <bind match="global"> through XML and only received errors.

Signature field not working

I created a form in LiveCycle and am trying to include a digital signature field. I have changed the field type to Signature, but when I try to test the form, nothing happens. The form opens in Acrobat, but when I click on the signature field, nothing happens. Even when I save the form and reopen it in either Acrobat or Reader, nothing happens when I click the field. Is this something not working correctly in the form or is it in my usage of Acrobat (ie, I'm not sure what kind of rights our IT department has allowed me when it comes to digital signatures and certifications)? I would be happy to let someone take a look at the form, but am not sure how to upload that and link to it.

I don't really need anything too fancy, just an option for folks filling out the form to get a signature on an electronic version of the form, rather than having to print the form, get it signed, and then scanning it back in.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I have an Input box that turns mandatory only if a check box is clicked.

The Script goes Something Like This;

I can get IssuedTo, IssuedBy, KeyHolderName, ValidFrom(To) info but I can't get PublicKey.

I used this script:

How do I auto populate a date field when a document gets digitally signed using LiveCycle ES2? I have a form that has multiple signature fields and date fields. I want to have the date field populate when a person signs that document. That date will need to stay the same when the next person signs it. For example, person A signs the document on 20 Jun and sends it to person B. That person signs it on 22 Jun. I want the dates to stay the same when a new person opens the form to sign it. Thanks.

I am relatively new at using LiveCycle and am running ES 8.2 and Acrobat Pro 9.0. I have a 2-part question:

(1) Is there a way to restric a signature field to a specific user? I have created a form with a few signature fields. The first signature field is a "Submitter" (this field would be available to anyone who uses the form). The second signature field is meant for an "Approver" (specific person), and the third signature field is for a "Co-Approver" (specific person).

(2) Can an event be triggered after the respective user has digitally signed the form? (e.g. After the Submitter signs it, an email is generated to the Approver.)

My company is not yet on board with digital signatures, and occassionally people attempt to turn in their forms digitally (with digital signatures) when they should be turning them in on paper with hand written signatures.

I'm wondering if there is a way to disable electronic signatures when creating a document in Adobe LiveCycle. Right now the only option I have is writing text beneath the signature field saying, "Please don't use electronic signatures", and this isn't exactly ideal.

Hello all-

I'm having an issue with a form that has multiple digital signatures. The form additionally has a listbox in which the user can select recipients to email the form to. My objective is to be able to send a form to various users by email to sign digitally. After extending the features for Reader, I inserted a standard Livecycle digital signature by clicking on one of the digital signature fields. However, after inserting the digital signature, I can't perform any other actions (email the form by selecting recipients from the listbox, clicking a different digital signature field for signature insertion, etc.) It is as if the digital signature instertion made an uneditable snapshot of the form, which I do not want to do. What can I do to rectify this process?

Will upload the form if necessary.

Is it possible for me to code the signature field on my form to not prompt the user to save when signing?

After I distribute my form, each user must sign it with digital ID and then they click a button on the form that attaches the signed form to an email in Outlook. I have many of the users requesting that they not have to save it when signing it.

Without problems, I can create and populate signatures using my Common Access Card (CAC), even place the current date in a corresponding field nearby after signing. However, I would like to digitally initial forms. That is, digitally sign the form with a digital signature, but extract my initials (certificate) from my CAC and populate a filed on my form. I am a designer for the Army, and we often using digital initials to sign our forms. That is, we use a digital signature to sign a form, and at the same time, populates a field on my form that accesses my certificate from my CAC and populates that field with my initials.

Problem invoking process which does digital signing

Hi,

I am creating a process which basically does the digital signing of PDF forms. On creating of a fresh process, invoking of the process is fine.

However, when come the next day or after a long period of time without invoking this process, the following error (Screenshot below) would appear and invoking of this process would be impossible.

The only way past this is to recreate another clone of this process, and it will work. This is not realistic to be done in Production.

Another point to note is that this problem is solved when I remove the 'Sign Signature Field' service operation from the process. However this cannot be done, as main purpose of this process is to digitally sign PDF docs.

Ive also tried increasing the 'Default document disposal timeout' to 3000 seconds, but problem still doesnt go away.

Hence, does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

XML signature in huge form

I have an eForm with 400+ fields. I have to apply XML signature on this form. For this, I have written following code on mousedown event of signature field:

On applying XML signature it is taking too much time. In fact, sometimes I have to kill Adobe Reader process from Task Manager. Is it becuase of enormity of the form? The same scenario is working fine for smaller forms.

I need to develop a java applet which can quickly inject and read a signature in a PDF document.

But if I understand correctly this guide, I have to get the adobe-signatures-client jar and include it in my application. How I can get it ?

Should I buy it ? or a bigger solution (LiveCycle) ? I only need a tool to inject and retrieve a signature in a PDF document through my java applet, I don't need the whole solution

I can't found clearly how I can retreive it on Adobe site, I need help

When I complete the form in the workspace, I am able to sign, but when I click finish, signature fields are empty.

Locking a Signature Field or Disable Clear Signature Option

I am working on a form using Acrobat 8 and LC Designer 8. The form is to be routed via email and has sections to be completed by varing departments (internally and one remote location). When a section of the form is completed, it is digitally signed locking the data fields of that section. This works just fine as long as the digital signature is not removed which at this point, can be removed by any one using the "Clear Signature" option when right-clicking on the signature.

Is there a way to lock the signature field to prevent this or can the clear signature option be removed from the right-click pop-up menu? Or is there another method that someone has used to make this happen? Also, I'm a beginner at scripting so, if possible, please include code for any scripts that may work.

Form stop working since upgraded to Pro X (ver 10) in Adobe. Getting this message:

IntegriSign

This plug-in is intended for validating signatuers signed using earlier versions of Acrobat. To sign using this version of Acrobat use "IntegriSign to Acrobat 9.0 and later" handler

I have changed settings in Adobe Pro X to the above but still get the same message.

Do anyone know how to fix this?

Forcing OCSP instead of CRL

I need to check the signature status of a signed document. What I need to achieve is check the revocation information of the signing certificate through OCSP and show the result of that check. Optionally I am allowed to also do a CRL check and show the result of that check. The document is signed with a certificate that has an OCSP responder URL and a CRL location. The immediate parent certificate is imported into the LC Trust Store so there are no certificates between the signing certificate and the Trust Anchor.

No matter what I do, I seem to be unable to get the OCSP response / status in the result, I always get the CRL status / result.

The sequece of actions I am running is:

- purge the certificate cache through SOAP;

- purge the CRL cache through SOAP;

- invoke the verifyPDFDocument method through SOAP.

I have attached both the PDF I am verifying, a dump of the SOAP request I am sending and a dump of the SOAP response I am getting. (The SOAP response is stripped of some data in the CRL revocationInformation node since it was about 800KB for each occurence.)

What I am seeing on the network is that the LC server is doing an OCSP check first (screenshots of the request and response below) and then doing a CRL check (screenshot of the request below, the response is a bit big but is valid). That is something I don't understand, because as you can see from the SOAP request I am explicitly setting the crlOptionSpec to have a checkStyle of NoCheck.

I believe all these documents together make a self-contained testcase showing the behaviour I am experiencing. I hope somebody can tell me what I need to configure in the SOAP request to get the OCSP response in the verifyPDFDocument output instead of the CRL response.

Signature field NOT working since upgrade to Adobe Pro X

Hi Forum,

Form stop working since upgraded to Pro X (ver 10) in Adobe. Getting this message:

IntegriSign

This plug-in is intended for validating signatuers signed using earlier versions of Acrobat. To sign using this version of Acrobat use "IntegriSign to Acrobat 9.0 and later" handler

I have changed settings in Adobe Pro X to the above but still get the same message.

Do anyone know how to fix this?

Adobe 10.1 Signature Field not working

When I click on the Signature Field created with LiveCyle in Adobe X, the epad isn't activated for signature. I get the error message below. Working with IntegriSign Epad Link to resolve but have ran out of solutions.

What else can we check?

Signature in pdf causes plug-in error

Created form in livedesigner ES with signature field. When I open it using Adobe X (ver 10) and use the ePad IntegriSign I get this error message:

Yes, Adobe X settings are setup accordingly. I am working with epadlink but they have ran out of suggestions.
