Hello, I am a new user to After Effects. I bought the creative suite a while back and now have some extra time to learn it.

I want to but the After Effects CS 5 Classroom in A Book for as an ebook, but before I spend the money I would like to know if there will be a link for me to download the chapter files. I Anyone have an answer?

Can't save AdobeTV tutorials to My Library.

I have started using Adobe TV and am enjoying the tutorials but I can't save them to My Library.

I am logged in (It says I am) but the word Save Tab under the video and next to Translation is inactive.

The cursor turns to a hand but clicking has no effect. My Library is empty. I have tried this on two separate days.

Is there another Save to Library button? I searched the page but the word "Save" only occurs once.

If I click on Translations, that works.

who did the website? it f*cking sucks!

so, I don't really care who did it, but it's been a while since I went to a reputable company's website and was so dismayed by it's f*cked up panels floating in a semi-transparent way over the things I'm trying to see. What, the f*ck.

Help Manager never successfully integrates content

I have Creative Cloud on Mac 10.8 (Mountain Lion). No matter what I do, every time I try to add more offline content or update existing content, I see the dialog that reads, "Please wait while the downloaded files are extracted. Extracting large files may take several minutes," and there it sits.

I can see from the Activity Monitor that Adobe Help Manager is still alive and supposedly doing something, but I can leave it be for hours at a time, and the dialog never goes away. I can terminate that dialog, or force quit, or reboot, or whatever else, and it doesn't appear to work. I also see a couple of items in the help list that show "Pending Integration" seemingly endlessly.

Any idea what gives?

I also see items in the list that are duplicated, and things in the list with no date, status or size—how do I clean them up?

Honestly, the way the Help Manager functions leaves a lot to be desired in general. You can access the PDF content from there, but nothing else?

Hi - we have received several reports through this forum that some users are encountering an issue when downloading Help reference PDFs through the Adobe Help Manager in CS6.

Problem: Although the application appears to be downloading the Help content, the application hangs during the 'extraction' phase of the process. Further, when users check in their shared documents folder, the PDF files are actually present and unzipped as expected.

Solution: the application database files and/or corrupt configuration files are likely at fault. To resolve the issue, please delete the following two directories.

Delete the following directory:

Windows: %appdata%/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1

Tip: To find this directory in Windows, copy the preceding phrase into the Windows Explorer file manager.

Mac OS: /[user name]/Library/Preferences/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1

Tip: To find this directory on Mac OSX 10.7, open the Terminal application and enter the following: "chflags nohidden ~/Library/” and execute.

And delete this directory too:
- Windows : C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\ (Help and PDF directories within)
- Mac : \Users\Shared\Documents\Adobe (Help and PDF directories within)

Then simply restart the Help Manager and restart the download process.

The engineering team is continuing to investigate the root cause but the steps above should resovle the issue for the majority of users. Thanks for your patience while we continue to investigate.

I found how to unfollow everyone, yet I am being inundated with afterFXs threads! (I would have posted this in a Jive community, but I didn't see one)

I checked the Jive documentation, but could find an answer. The documentation is not great IMO. The slow response time I experience when navigating from page to page to page on this forum makes finding /exploring Jive features very painful.

I have suddenly been told that my C drive is full. Upon closer inspection I came across this folder which is over 1Gb in size.

Would anyone happen to know if the Help Viewer is an issue with InDesign CS6? Even with a manual install the Help feature launches without issues the first time and won’t launch after the second time. This is the message we are receiving on Windows 7:

I am new to this; digital photography, CS6 and this forum. So please excuse my clumsiness. Somewhere there is a list of all the information I should post with my question. I do not know how to access this list. So, this is my first inquiry. How do I become more fluent in this forum?

I have been struggling for over a year trying to get my prints to look anything like what I see on my screen.

Adobe phone help was entirely useless. Epson has been patient but not necesarily helpful. Today, in my tenth phone session with them, we may have stumbled upon something. Rep had me print my test print in Photoshop. Awful, as usual. Then he had me print the same print in Preview. Much closer (tho not perfect) to the true color. He said the problem is with Photoshop.

I am too new at this to guess at his accuracy. But the printing through Preview was an eye-opener. The printer can print somewhat accurate to screen version.

Please tell me what info is needed to post an informative question and where to access this list of information. I have a 14 month pileup of photos I would like to print but cannot proceed. HELP.

CS6, I am not working in RAW (That is a whole other universe of confusion for me.)

I understand that this course is borrowed from Linda.com. Do I need to subscribe to Linda in order to download those files or can I Download it from the Adobe tutorial page?

Over the last 9 years as a private individual, I have spent over $8000 on adobe products. Every time anything goes wrong, the only reply I get is it will cost you. I have to put up with the ridicules exchange rate, and excuses that downloading the same product worldwide is dramatically different. Its not that I get anything but US English. What is that by the way, I live in England, we speak English.. So today like any other I am trying to get a simple thing like Acrobat to read a file without constant warnings, I mean I have bought the product more than 5 times but this does not matter. So I try to get through to customer support. An oxymoron in this case). Have been on a phone line now for 27min no luck, just the same incredibly poor music drifting in and out so you think you may have lost contact. When your customers pay so much for the privilege of using your product, stop crapping on their heads....

HELP for the CS products has gone down hill every release since CS4. I just installed CS6 master collection and can't get help to work AT ALL to 90% of the apps. It shouldn't be that difficult. I shouldn't have to waste hours searching though enless seas of user submitted crap to try to get simple help for a product. Adobe is just trying to sluff off it's support responsibilities on the public.

The updated versions of many of the PDF Help file downloads supposedly for CS6 are now actually those for CC - Premiere, AME, Encore, and Photoshop are all now faulty. The Audition and Bridge downloads cover both CS6 and CC. I do not know about many of the others as they are not of interest to me.

Can the correct CS6 downloads be replaced, please, and separate downloads for CC be added?

This absolutely puzzles me. When you go to the help in any Adobe program, you are taken to a page that has the list of contents, but the search field, instead of being the obvious and logical choice of searching the help like in every other software in the world, has ONE search field that says "Adobe Community Help", which might be of service at some point, but why would they only put this search field and not one to search the actual help documents? It's just absurd.

To Anyone at Adobe: Please Help!! This is regarding Case Number

I am trying to get a simple transfer from one CC subscription to another (less expensive) subscription. The "team" who I guess is in India has been told repeatedly to not call me on a certain number (one that starts with area code 323 as that is my Google Voice number, which doesn't come through to my home phone, which starts with area code 909).

They do not seem capable to understand that simple of a request, so I don't know what else to do except plead for someone, anyone, at Adobe to take pity on me and possibly step in to resolve the issue. Here is the history:

In early July, 2013, I switched from the half off of creative cloud for CS6 owners to the $19.99/month when I discovered this "secret" discount hidden away on Adobe's website: Are there special pricing offers available to purchase a Creative Cloud membership?

I had to subscribe to the new one and then someone at Adobe had to cancel the old one.

I was assured I'd be credited or get a discount for the additional expense and my case would be "escalated" and I'd be taken care of.

At that time I told customer support to not call me on my phone number that starts with 323 (they already had the 10-digit number) but to use my home number. The rep confirmed he'd made that change.

Then Adobe called again on the number I had told them to not use and left a message.

Then Adobe called a third time after I'd written in the case log again to not use the 323 number!

As a result on Adobe customer support being incapable of using the phone number that I'd said to use on three different occasions, the case remains open, unresolved, and is becoming a big waste of time to make a simple change.

Here is the printed history. I don't know what else to do.

I AM FED UP with how Adobe is handling this! Adobe, YOU ARE NOT DOING A GOOD JOB AND YOU NEED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

Here are the issues:

The previous week, when I got called, I specifically told you the number you were using was not good and gave you a new phone number to use. Did you replace the incorrect number with the correct one? NO, you did not. So the July 19th call went to the number I specifically told you previously was not the number to use.
You have now called me on three different occasions to try to resolve my issue with switching from the $29.99/mo CC to the $19.99/mo CC subscription. After I signed up for the lower priced option, you said I'd get a refund of $30 and the case would be escalated. Then you called me to ask me if I wanted a different solution, to which I said, "Give me two months free for all the aggravation this is causing me," and you AGAIN said you'd have to get back to me. And then yesterday's call to the number I told you not to callon had no information and apparently no resolution, so I'm still in the dark as to why you were even calling.
I'm just going to put this here, so that it's in writing: When I signed up for the less expensive subscription, you canceled the original subscription. I received an email stating my Creative Cloud subscription had been canceled. NOT COOL, ADOBE. I currently have no assurances that you've managed this transition properly and that I do, in fact, still have an intact Creative Cloud subscription.
I tried many times on Friday to call you back at your 877 number and only got weird error sounds and then (later) a recorded voice that said there were technical issues in putting the call through, or something weird and annoying like that. So, I don't really know what your problem is with your own support line, but based on my numerous attempts yesterday, it doesn't work.

Adobe, you're really aggravating me. I'm already greatly annoyed with how you're handling this forced switch-over to Creative Cloud. Why don't you decide what you want to throw my way in terms of resolution, call me on the number that I told you to call on (the one the starts with 9098...) WITH A RESOLUTION ALREADY IN HAND THAT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE "ESCALATED" if you need to, and resolve this.

Perhaps someone who actually has some decision making authority can resolve this because the clueless off-shore tech support you've farmed all your first response to is simply making matters worst and is not making me happy, not resolving the issues, and can't even figure out which phone number to call me at.

And on and on it goes. I need to speak to someone to understand if the 60 days credit is a refund, a continuation, and to get answers to the other questions I asked on July 20th.

It used to be there was someone at Adobe Corporate who had decision-making authority, who could easily get things resolved right then and there and answer any other questions but now it's just a nightmare.

When I hit F1, the help module comes up. It has a very outdated list of Adobe applications. For example, I've owned Lightroom 3, 4, and now 5. Hi,

I have downloaded the trial and installed it Mac OS Lion. The help application does not work; the omly thing that it will display is the settings window. After downloading local content and clicking done, the window disappears, but when you click on the application icon, it again reappears. Simply put, I cannot view the help at all in the Help application, even though I have set it up to always use local content. Anyone else run into this?

It would be useful if the pdf versions of the Help files carried the publication date on the front cover. As it is you have no idea whether the version offered is updated from the one you have already downloaded.

Still no contents and index, either.

Also the pagination is for US size paper not, the far more widely used A4. this results in a plethora of Widows and Orphans.

Customer find there have a PDF folder and Help Folder under [user/share/Documents/Adobe] folder.

Customer think PDF based help file should saved under PDF folder and HTML based help should saved under Help folder.

customer had installed lasted Adobe Community Help from below URL

and they had set ONLY use local content from Adobe Help Manager General setting tab.

but when they open any CS5 product and click Help from menu, just ONLINE help content will displayed.

So customer want to confirm below questions.

Q1.whether both CS6 and CS5 save help data in below folder?

-Macintosh HD/user/share/Documents/Adobe

Q2.Adobe Help Manager setting can work for both CS5 and CS6's local PDF help file as offline mode?

Q3.although customer configured ONLY user local content from Adobe Help Manager General setting tab,

when they click help from CS5 product, ONLY online help will displayed, is it a bug? or product specification?

Q4.Customer confirmed there have some content in Expired status in Adobe Help Manager,

but other content in latest or no update available status.

customer want to know which condition can lead local help content in Expired status?

Deleting folders while on the server

I hope this is the correct forum for my discussion.

I'm using OS 10.7.5:

When I'm connected to the server at work and start to delete old folders within nested hierarchy, it will automatically bounced back to the very first level which can be annoying. Then I would have to go back and locate my destination where it's usually 4 or 5 level nestled deep down on the central server.

I tried to be as clear and precise with my description. Hope someone has an answer or can share a work-around to this problem.

What languages are available for offline manuals (PDFs) for Creative Suite 6 Help?

Creative Suite 6 Help PDFs are localized into a limited set of languages. These PDFs combine content for CS5, CS5.5 and CS6.

Every time I press F1 in any of the CS6 applications it directs me to links that do not work

I just tried hitting help in Photoshop and AE in both Chrome and IE on two separate workstations and it appears to be down.

why is the text on this page so tiny and why cant it be made larger? adobe can do better than this. this site is a disgrace
