Adding Numeric Fields and Calculating Totals.

I have added another NumericField (4) to a form and want to calculate it with the 'total' numericField only, ie

NumericField 1

NumericField 2

NumericField 3 - this is 15% of the total of NF1 & 2

NumericField 4 - this is to exclude the 15% and then be added to the Total

NumericField 5 - Total of all the above

I don't seem to be able to get field 4 to adjust the Total when I add a value. How would I change it

the script for NumericField5 is: event.value=NumericField1.rawValue+NumericField2.rawValue+NumericField3.rawValue

(using Livecycle Designer ES 8.2)

lost pdf preview tab in ES4

Initial install of LC ES4 did have pdf preview and it worked for a couple wks. Now I can't get the tab back.

I've read the blogs-followed the instructions to resolve-but have yet to get pdf preview tab

I've uninstalled/reinstalled Acrobat XI Pro and LiveCycle ES4 twice now-each time making sure all directory structure removed.

I really need to get this feature back. Does anyone have a solution?

I created a PDF form in Livecycle Designer es4. I do not have Adobe Pro. How can I allow users of my forms to save their completed forms to their computers?

How can I make a cell/text box not possible to fill in? In this case it is an order form where the customers can fill in quantity under each size box. Some size we don't have and therefore I want to make it impossible to fill that box in?

Hello,

Using Livecycle designer 11.0.0 to create a form.

I'm running into an issue where some fields within a generated PDF have unexpected formatting -- usually just around the placement of the data in the field. The odd thing is, focusing affected fields with my cursor puts the data in the right spot. Once unfocused, it goes back,

Here is an example, see the 48 in the Term field and how it is pushed all the way to the right.

Now when I focus the field, it is in the expected place.

I want this field (and others) to be in the correct spot without having to focus the field. Any tricks to accomplish this?

With a PDF Dynamic form using show/hide actions, how to ensure that when the completed form is saved, closed and re-opened, the form still show the fields as before it was closed?

I have developed a form with fields hidden by default, that become visible based on box ticked or radio button selections.

My problem is that, when I close the form and re-open it, it comes back to it's default presentation, regardless of the information already recorded in the form (including in the now hidden fields.

How to correct that

Submitt email - Null in empty field in the body message

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to create a form for my organization travels, staff needs to fill a form which it will go attached to an email and all the information filled in would appear in the email body. I have managed all that; however, if they leave any input field blank the word "null" appears in the email body. Allso, if all the values in the var cFirst are null, I would like it to be hidden in the body's email.

I do not know much about Java and I have tried and looked for days on how to solve this problem without any luck.

I would be very gratefull any help that I could get to achive it and I am really sorry for the long message, but I am desperate.

Disable a button under certain circumstances and disable input fields

Scenario: My user receives a PDF (dymanic XML) where they fill in fields and click a Submit button to send the data to the server. They receive a confirmation copy of the form back. In our older version of Livecycle, the confirmation form was locked down - no fields were editable, the Submit button was disabled. We still need the ability to not input/change any data on the confirmation copy and not be able to click the Submit button. Under ES4, everything started out editable.

On the confirmation copy, there are messages that I check. When those messages are present I would like to hide the buttons (optimal solution) or at the very least, disable them so the user cannot resubmit the form again.

I've managed to put Javascript in place to lock down all input fields, I just can't get the script to work to hide the buttons. I'm beginning to wonder if the script to lock down all input fields is causing the scripts to hide the buttons to not work.

Sample code to disable editing of input fields:

- had to provide this code at the table level so that when a table flows to a second page, the fields are locked. When I put it at the page level or top level of the hierarchy, it only worked on the one page when I need it to cover fields that have flowed on to a second page. Even at the table level, there are still some tables that remain open until a change is made, then the fields on the second page become locked.

- when this is entered at the subform level, second page of the subform is modifiable

Text box jumping a full page

I have created a relatively elaborate (for my limited skills anyway) interactive PDF form. It has taken me quite a while and just when I thought it was completed and ready to use, one of my managers has come back to me pointing out the following problem. I cannot see what is causing this and was hoping someone on here could point me in the right direction. I shall try and explain this as best I can.

To simplify the explanation - I have two expandable text boxes on one particular page (say Page 1) and a third one at the top of the following page (page 2) - I'll call them Textbox 1, Textbox 2 and Textbox 3 for the purposes of this post.

If Textbox 1 and Textbox 2 are completed with sufficient text to allow Textbox 2 to expand to the top of Page 2, even by only a few lines, Textbox 3 drops down a complete page (to Page 3) leaving a huge gap of white space between Textbox 2 and Textbox 3. Ideally I would like Textbox 3 to remain just under Textbox 2.

I probably havn't explained this too well so apologies for that. I had hoped to put together a test form re-creating the problem which I could post here but havn't been able to do so.

Hi, I'm trying to create a form with 2 pages. The first page will have input fields (either manual or drop down).

What I would like the 2nd page to do, is take that input, substitute it into a web address e.g. Http............(input).... which will retrieve an image and place it on to the 2nd page in a set location.

In addition, the image urls are set to work with an input of 13 digits. Some of the input data will be 13 digits long, while some others will only be 7 digits long. In those cases it will need to add 6 zeros in front of the 7 digits.

I hope this makes some sense and any possible help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Javascript to set the actions. I need to hide a text field if the value of a field in another sub-form is null.

- tried checking the value of the other field for null - doesn't work

- tried setting a variable str2 where I know the value of the other field is available then checking that variable when I initialize the text field - doesn't work

What am I missing?

Hide repeating column in table

I have a table wrapped in a subform which allows the user to add/delete multiple rows, I want to use a button to hide a column in the table once the use has finished adding/deleting rows.

I have tried:-

Is it possible to designate stapling when printing a PDF form?

I am using Adobe Lifecycle Designer (ver. 10.0.1029120306.1.870331) to set up a new report for an SAP application. I can certainly designate duplex printing from within the form by using Form Properties and the PDF Print Options, but no stapling option can be found. Is this possible? Is there a way to set this up from within the PDF form? If not within the form, what have others found to work for their environment? We are using Xerox GPD PS printers here and they certainly offer the stapling feature.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on a solution for myself.

I have been searching for many days on how to populate MULTIPLE drop down lists dynamically, and to be frank cound not find one article.

I found a lot of examples and tutorials on combo dropdowns, but couldnt find anyone that has discussed populating more than 2.

So here is my question.

How can you create (i need 5) dynamic dropdowns, in livecycle...?

Any help on making this work would be great, or even a better way as I sure there is...

Basically I need each dropdown to populate itself from the previous dropdown selection.

This is for an order form for my customers for ordering sportswear.

So dropdown1 would contain (unisex/mens/ladies)

Dropdown 2 would then contains the items from first selection like if mens then you could choose from rugby/basketball/cricket etc and ladies like netball/off-field etc...

Then dropdown 3 would contain specifics like type of jersey etc

Then dropdown 4 would contain type of collar etc

Then last dropdown woluld contain the fabric option etc.

Please help anyone, as I am pretty good with graphic design, no idea and self taught when it comes to coding like this.

Problems exporting xml data from a pdf form

Hello,

We made 16 pdfs forms using the Livecycle Designer ES4 and extended them with Reader Extensions ES4. We are using the trial version for the Reader Extensions because we are still in the development phase.

To extract the xml data we are using the JAVA service "FormDataIntegrationClient" with the method "exportData2". This is working fine in all cases except for pdfs that haven't been opened and saved after being extended.

Working case:

- Extend pdf

- Open pdf

- Fill in the form (optional)

- Save pdf

- Export xml data

Not working case:

- Extend pdf

- Export xml data

In this case if we debug and inspect the com.adobe.idp.Document object the element <inline> is empty. In all working cases the <inline> element contains the xml data.

I've noticed that PDFs I've created via livecycle won't auto preview when single clicked in a windows folder. If I take the Livecycle created PDF and print that to a new PDF, then it will preview (See below)

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening?

Formatting issues with "Justify"

I have a problem. I have a text field that ought to be justified and multiple paragraphs or a list of items will be entered into the text field.

However, it appears the last line of each Justified (flush left and right) paragraph is spread across the text field, resulting in a very ugle display in the PDF (see below).

Are there any known work arounds for this? Do I have an issue with my settings? Is this a bug?

Hi,

I'm trying to build a form in Adobe livecycle designer and I want to change the order of questions: I want users to press TAB to switch question, but I have 2 columns and pressing Tab always brings me from left to right, then second line, I want second line until the end of the column and then change to right.....

Example of what is the situation now:

I created XML forms in Livecycle. If I receive the forms back I can't see them on my Mobile Phone or Ipad. Is there an easy way to change this? I understood that the new version Adobe Livecycle ES4 is possible to create form which are compatible for Ipad?

When I click on the button, nothing happens. what am I doing wrong?

Is there a way to alter the file name given to the attachments in an email button?

When ever I click the standard email button, I get an attachement with random alfa and numeric characters for the file name. Is there any way to change the files names to match a data field in the form or start with something I choose?

pdf file not exporting data as xml

I have created a pdf form in adode livecycle version 8, I have saved it as a adobe acrobat 7 dynamic xml form.

when a user has completed the form I need to export the data as an xml file however there is no data from the form in the xml file.

does anyone know what the problem is?

I have a drop down box from which the user chooses the name of their company. If they choose "Not found" another text field pops up for them to add the name of their company.

I have a text field on a master page (a footer) that I want to be populated with the user's selection from the drop down. However, if they Choose "not listed" from the drop down, I would like the text field to be populated with the answer they submit themsleves in the next blank.

Really needing help with this before a deadline. Just starting to learn about scripting.

Problem with the appearance of radio buttons

Hello,

I have a dynamic form with a lot of radio buttons (Yes-No choices with either Yes or No tagged as default, a cross appears for the default choice). It usually works fine.

I hadn't used this form for quite some time, but when I opened it this morning, all radio buttons have the figure "6" instead of the usual cross.

I have no idea what happened.

Any idea ?

LiveCycle Server Facility

Hi,

I have LiveCycle ES4 (just the Adobe Form module) and I would like to run some of my forms in HTML 5, this clearly requires Adobe Server. What is less obvious (to me!) is how the server can be obtained, costing etc. It only needs to run documents internally if that makes a difference.

It might be not be possible to just have the LiveCycle forms and the server?, but If it is, could anyone point me to a non-techy guide to this I would be immensely grateful.

Distribute Form Grayed Out

I am using Livecycle Designer ES4 and I opened a form that someone else had designed and made edits and Saved it as my own. When I attempt to distribute the form, the distribute form is grayed out. If I send my form back to the original author and he opens it, he is able to distribute. How can we change ownership of an edited form so that I may distribute it?

Form Fields not visible to External App

I am trying to create a PDF Form with 7 text fields.

I'm doing so in Designer as I want the fields to expand dynamically based upon the amount of text inserted.

I want to leave the form blank and populate the fields via a script that opens the pdf, populates the fields and then saves the pdf.

I have a sample pdf that works. I can see the fields by the app.

My new PDF will not make the fields visible to the App.

I've compared the two but cannot see what I am missing.

The fields are bound using their names.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Am I may be using the wrong Adobe Product?

My problem is i have 66 text fields ,but my xml is only 10 records, based on some condition the value is to display in the text field .but the data is displayed row wise.It is very urgent.i insert my xdp template ,compare borewell id and material id ,which is also in xml file below u find my xml code.how to write java script and in which event.

how to dynamically center a subform an a page

Hello, does anyone know how this can be done?

I have several fields wich vary from lenght. I can dynamically move them depending of the content with a subform, but I want them always to be on de center of the page.

What happens now is that my left starting point of the subform stays in the same place and the expansion is happening only on the right side.

I would like de expansion to happen evenly on the left and the right side so it stays centered.

I am looking for a sample PDF document that has this functionality: I have a 2 page PDF whereby if you click on the check boxes on page 1, information and data is automatically filled in on page 2. The information that should appear in a table should be a code, description and an amount (which needs to be added up to give a total). I have looked through several scipts but battling to put this together in Designer.

If you have a sample PDF with the scripts built into the PDF, please try to post it on thsi forum so that I can use the basis/foundation to build this solution.

I attempted to import this PDF file:

Into LiveCycle Designer ES4 as an Interactive Form with a Flowable Layout:

This is what I got (design view tab):

Preview PDF tab:

The individual letters (glyphs) are rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise from the source!

How do I get the Flowable layout to import without rotating the individual glyphs in the text fields?

NOTE: If I import as an Interactive Form with Fixed Pages, the text is NOT rotated. I am required to save the form in an editable format, so that is not an option.

Sending an encrypted XML to an email adress with specific certificate

Hi,

I want to create a form that has a submit button which sends an encrypted xml to an e-mail adress..

In the Encryption Settings of the button I can specify the certificate that should be used (.cer -File).

But when I click on the submit button a window appears to choose the Digitale Signature although I already specified it in the Encryption Settings. In addition, if I click 'cancel' or 'OK' there, another window appears and I'm asked to choose the recipient.. But I specified both, signature and recipient, in the Settings of the button in Adobe LiveCycle Designer..

What can I do so that these windows do not appear?

Print after form is submitted

I'm trying to create a form with a unique feature of having the user see the print buttom feature only after they have submitted the form. I currently have the form set up with both buttons viewable onscreen where I only want the print button to show up after they submitted the form.

Need help in "Allow Page Break within Content"

I am parsing the whole .xdp file by using PERL XML::DOM package but XML Source (.xdp) doesn't contain any information about "Allow Page Break within Content" button for a subform. It does contain x, y, w, h and name like <subform name="parent_DA_sub" w="279.4mm" layout="tb">. Is there any way to check "Allow Page Break within Content" button [checked or not]?

problem with data overflow in the table

I have an issue in my adobe form designing.

My requirement is that, the header of the page should be populated with the customer number and the following details of the particular customer should be filled in a table.

But the issue is when the table data overflows to the next page, the header details of the customer number are not appearing, only the table values are displayed.

can you please him in acheiving this.

I am using Liveclye Designer ES 8.2. I have a table with two columns. A user will enter a code number in Column 1 that has four numbers and a letter (i.e. 1234B). Codes could be in a range of any number from 0101A through 8999A, 0101B through 8999B and so on. Based on the letter entered, I want column 2 to show a corresponding size. A letter "A" in the code number would show "1 L" in the second column, a letter "B" would show "750 ML" or a letter "D" would show "200 ML" etc.

I am trying to use FormCalc and am not sure how to go about this. Is there a possibility that someone could show me the appropriate language structure?

Example:

Column 1 Column 2

0669A 1 L

6522D 200 ML

7001B 750 ML

Generated PDF through ConvertWord.exe, is not getting opened

I trying to use ConvertWord.exe for converting my word doc into pdf file. Thus, i am using ConvertWord.exe from the command prompt & passed the required parameters. However, the generated PDF is not getting opened, as it says that file is corrupted. Please share some solution on it.

I am using Windows XP (32-bit) machine & using simple word doc (Resume file) for the conversion.

Please share the suitable help asap.
