Recovery of lost files / missing Adobe Ideas app.

Writing this on behalf of a friend so forgive me if I omit any details. Adobe Ideas began updating then ceased to exist on the iPad in question. When they re-downloaded it from the iTunes store their saved files and images, etc, were missing. Surely there is a way to recover these? I am surprised that the app doesn't automatically back stuff up, or didn't recognize file remnants on the device when it was reinstalled, but surely there's a way to recover these files? Yes, she hadn't saved them elsewhere, or backed them up in some uber safe fashion as she didn't expect the app to commit suicide on her, no it's not jailbroken so I can't just check it's hard drive unfortunately. Does anyone have any ideas? She's incredibly distraught (she's an artist, and had many, many years worth of work built up on there, portraits of loved ones, etc. so she's absolutely bummed right now. It wasn't user error (that was the first thing I usually suspect,) as she's incredibly tech savvy and would have been the first to admit to such. Any ideas, pun not intended?

HI,

I'm using Adobe Premiere to edit some videos/animations. And I'm testing out what this whole "cloud" is about. I'm wondering why I can't stream the videos I have synced to my cloud on my iPhone or a friend's iPad. I mean, isn't it the point to share with other co-workers or players in your team? This will be hugely disappointing if all my videos just turn into GIFs on my mobile devices on the cloud... Because then, what's the point for video editors? I might as well use drop box.

Please let me know if there's a resolution,

Adobe Ideas Crashes and no Adobe Draw for Iphone...I just receive a email stating there will no longer be any support for Adobe Ideas which is fine if you have an alternative which would be Adobe Draw. Now problem number 1 Adobe Ideas is crashing so with that being said we can not use it even if we wanted to being that is the only vector app you offer for the iphone. Adobe is giving a deadline of November 21st. I think Adobe should at-least fix the issue before stating a deadline with adobe ideas or release us a version of Adobe Draw for the iphone this is very frustrating for a long time Adobe users of the apps and programs..you drop the ball on this one ADOBE. very disappointed.

Well... I BOUGHT Adobe Ideas for my iPad. Will you just leave the buyers of Ideas on their own?

I used it to sketch and send the files as PDF to use them as vectors. Well... I received the information that it will be replaced by Adobe Draw (good), an app than cannot export PDF (bad) unless I have a subscription do Adobe CC. Simple question: Will you just leave the buyers of Ideas on their own?

Don´t get me wrong, I think Adobe CC is wonderfull, and probably I´ll subscribe to it. But right now I don´t have a subscription and the workflow with Ideas is fine for me. My point is I paid for something that, latter was offered for free (no problem here) and now is being replaced by something with a big limitation (very bad) that is almost a dealbreaker for me.

This doesn´t feel as the good old Adobe for me. Sorry.

I have Ideas communicating correctly and is now syncing to the cloud as it's supposed to.... but when I try to send .idea files to Illustrator either directly from my iPad or downloaded from the cloud, I can't open them without crashing illustrator. I'm sure I saw other posts that mentioned the same problem but I don't remember an answer.

I choose it, just like all the drawing tools, but nothing happens... except a big temporary 'drip' in the color I'm trying to use. Without having any way to see a selection, it's hard to know why the fill tool is rejecting the command. Is there some trick that I'm missing?

Is it possible to bring a file made from adobe Shape into Ideas?

I can access my Creative Cloud files in Ideas but the shape files are in some other folder that I can only access online.

Hi I have got adobe ideas and it has been working fine. I bought a pressure sensitive stylus so have been using it again but I cannot for the life of me sync. I have read and re read all the info on these forums and there is no answer, I have uninstalled, signed in signed out etc but nothing has worked. One this that is strange it Illustrator CC 2014 is trying to open, I never knew I had this as I am using Illustrator CC. When I try and sync the CC 2014 trys to open and then quits with an error message saying reopen, ignore or report. I have looked in my CC on my mac and I can see CC2014 and it says up to date. Very annoying and frustrating I pay for the service and I have just bought an expensive stylus and now I can't get any files to upload in CC. I have updated a plug in in my CC which was for touch apps. Please help

I had to google for answers to how to use Ideas, I'm not a Mac or Adobe person and I'm new to the iPad; I don't know if that's why the commands and tools in this program aren't intuitive to me.... I do use Illustrator, which is why I latched on to Ideas, and I hoped that I'd be able to make them comunicate a little better than what's happening so far.

In this case it's the Rotate tool. I am able to resize the image with the Hand tool just fine. But the other flyout, with the four direction arrows, (which you would think indicates rescaling) doesn't respond at all. I can't pinch, move, twist, it doesn't respond to any touch on the screen. I tried de-activating the palm rejection, that had no affect. Help.

Can we expect support for Wacom Bamboo Stylus fineline?

Hi there,

I'm having a very serious issue with Adobe Creative cloud.

I regularly do drawing and sync my files to CC. The last time I did this successfully was 7 days ago.

I tried 3 days ago, and got the message: awaiting connection. I left it for about 20 minutes - same issue.

So I figured I'd leave it from Monday until Thursday, do so more work and try again. But it still stuck on 'awaiting connection'!

I don't have any complex file names : they are all 'untitled-n'.

I tried signing out and signing in again.

Please help me or I can't continue using the product.

If I sign in with a brand new user account, will it erase my current items in Adobe Ideas? That's all I can think of doing - setting up a new account and syncing all 50 files from scratch.

I don't want to lose my work!!!

Thanks - first persistent glitch in over a year.

FYI - I'm an IT guy so I've tried the obvious (make a tiny change to every file trying to sync, resave and try again, check wifi connection, etc.).

I realize that Ideas is not a full Illustrator replacement, but background transparenc/png export is a small feature that would be of immense help, especially when mocking up quick logo designs that need to be seen layered over various backgrounds. Hoping Adobe will take it into consideration for an update!

As it is, the quickest way to achieve this is by using an iOS app like Background Erase, but it's a hacky solution that produces a final image of severely degraded quality. Of course we can simply open the file in Illustrator, but that is using a cannon to kill a fly.

I'm trying to send it to myself and that won't work, so I tried sending it to 2 other people and neither of them have received it. Hi everybody... I'm trying to add a second and third photo layer, but the app only seems to include one photo layer. Every time I add a new layer, it defaults to 'draw layer'. How to I add more photo layers, or change draw layers to photos?

I love my adobe ink and slide, but the current apps that it works with don't allow me to work with layers like adobe ideas does.

I like the controls and capabilities of Ideas better than sketch and line. Any update on when I can use my ink pen with ideas?

There's no point in all layers having the same name - "Draw layer". It makes their names useless, they can't be used to differentiate one from the other.

The ability to rename layers is a missing basic feature, IMHO.

I can't preview Ideas files in Bridge (or anything else for that matter.) Is there a way to fix this? It's a bit of a pain to have to open an Ideas file in illustrator just to see what it is if I doesn't recognize the file name.

Undo delete layer?

Hi,

I accidentally deleted the incorrect layer. The undo doesn't seem to support layers. Then when I went to leave the file, the cloud backup kicked in. I cancelled it and it stopped, but the damaged file is now on the cloud server. It would be nice to undo layer deletes. I lost my work for the day. Or at least have iterative versions on the cloud (meaning older ones are saved on the cloud in a trash bin [versioning]). I'm newer to the tool and love it but this is really disappointing.

I really hope that you'll be able to release new features for this app. I know it's hard to figure out which features to add / which use cases make sense -- so here's one that I think makes a great fit: "sketchnoting" for conferences and presentations (creating visual representation of the speech as words, icons, arrows, etc.).

Adobe Ideas is the closest I've found for what I need: it's a use case where the ipad is important, and the lack of some other requested features isn't that important (text, tec.). But one thing is missing to make it truly viable: "scissors" (ie. draw around an area, then click to move that area on the page). And if I get an extra wish, ability to export to larger size image directly on ipad would also be lovely.. Thanks!

Vectors = Straight Lines and Perfect Curves... Except in this app!

File properties and pixel functions aside, the ability to create perfect strokes and adjustable paths that remain modifiable (with the original pen tool), are the very reasons that vectors are so useful. So why were so many of the important features of vectors omitted from this vector-based app? It's impossible even to draw perfectly straight lines or curves! If this application was made to simplify the process of vectors, I can understand that. Even if it was designed to be useful to anyone regardless of whether they know what a node or path is... Okay. But why then, at the very least, wouldn't a ruler be included? I actually love the idea of creating vectors quickly and on the go, I just don't understand why the most important abilities of vectors have been ignored here. Maybe the Lines app has these capabilities, but I wouldn't know because it doesn't work on ipad 2. Adobe, Please improve the Ideas app!! Adding straight and curved rulers, and/ or the ability to create lines by (for instance) clicking, then double clicking somewhere else - a straight line appearing between the two points - would be HUGELY useful updates. Thanks, and I'll be waiting...

I have iOS 7.1.2 and use an iPad mini and Adobe Ideas. I have had sync problem for about 3 months, but the last month I solved the problem thorugh having offline on sync files and only sync when I need to have the files on my computer. And it worked, all files came over from iPad to my Macbook Air.

But yesterday it started to crashes all the time when I set the offline sync to online.

What shall I do?
