still got crash when app is started on iOS devices, build 349

my app runs well on Android devices and PCs, when it was published first time to appStore with the last sdk (15), it was rejected by apple upload tool. This has been fixed with the airsdk 15 beta and later.

But when I use airsdk beta or build 349, app crashes immediately when I open it on my iOS devices (this didn't happen before with airsdk 14, and even now it could run properly with airsdk 14 on jailbroken devices). I tried to disable everything but basic components of starling and feathersui, it works! This is probably because some issues with the compiler (changes warning to error on some particular issues, I assume).

-useLegacyAOT yes not works for me

my app s written with mvcexpress, starling, feathersui. I tracked down the code to find that some commandPool in mvcExpress has probably caused the crash. but it comes more and more complicated to work with the mvc engine and I decided to give up.

I am looking for the solution of using airsdk 14 with some trick written by Colin here: No longer able to submit app to iTunes.

Hope that got fixed some days

Uncompiled Actionscipt warning on iOS using AIR 15

Hi,

I've just updated to AIR 15 Beta 15.0.0.302 in an attempt to submit an iOS app to Apple (because of the issue with segment alignment)

And my App now shows the"Uncompiled Actionscript" popup when I load an external SWF.

This was working fine with AIR 14, and previous versions of the App were approved by Apple and are in the App Store

The issue is not caused by the loader context issue. Unless the procedure for this has changed e.g. use

var ldrContext:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext(false, ApplicationDomain.currentDomain );

etc

and this worked fine in AIR 14

The only time I got the "Uncompiled Actionscript" popup in AIR 14, was if I published for debugging on the iPad, but not when I published

"Quick publishing for device testing" or "Deployment - Apple App Store"

So there appears to be some change in the AIR 15 build / packaging which has caused this issue.

Has there been a change to useLegacyAOT ? as this seems to effect the Uncompiled Actionscipt popup

See

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1562100

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or can anyone suggest a solution or work around, as this is currently preventing me submitting to Apple

Thanks

And i dont have any error message

what i don't understand is why it's working good with the debug version and not the production version. they are supposed to be exactly the same, and i don't see why it would be a crossdomain or applicationdomain issue. Did somebody experienced the same problem ?

the thing is its a bit hard to debug, as the prod version isnt firing any message, and the debug version is just fine...:/

thanks !

Images saved to the CameraRoll/Gallery prior to the installation of my software cannot be loaded by it and results in a Error #2032 Stream Error. Images saved afterwards to the CameraRoll/Gallery work fine. I realise this makes no sense, why should the date of installation matter?

2. However, this seems to have broken our Android build.

What we see is the Android app ends up with just a white screen with a "TypeError: Error #1016" in the log from our main function. Nothing in our app derives from a final class, so the error doesn't make any sense. It also isn't caught at compile time - just runtime.

Backing down to Air 15.0.0.249 works - so it's something between those two that's causing the problem.

Any clue what it might be?
Flash Pro CC 2014 Crashes When Publishing with Air

While trying to publish my app with Flash Pro CC 2014 the program crashes. I'm using the current Beta version of AIR 15 (previous version had the same results) on a Mac (Yosemite OSX 10.10 beta 5, Not the public beta) . When I publish to just a swf file there is no problems. If I publish to Android, iOS or Desktop then Flash crashes. When the Adobe crash scene comes up I do submit the reports to Adobe. At the end I get a message telling me Adobe found a solution for the recent crash and to "click here" for further details. When I do it just goes to the Adobe home page with no help. Is there a solution or workaround? I've been using one of my other machines that has Mavericks on it for publishing for the time being. I would like to work at one machine and not transferring back-and-forth. Any help will be great!

To Adobe Leaderships - A very bold and crazy proposal about AS4 and Swift

Dear Adobe Leaderships,

Me as a developer of both Adobe and Apple, here is my proposal about AS4 and Swift, I'll make it short:

1. Restart the ActionScript 4 program, make the language syntax near as Apple Swift as possible.

2. Develop a brand new version of the AIR ADT iOS Packager, find a way to pack the AS4 to native Swift codes, and run the AIR application natively on iOS & Mac OS, resulting in a much better performance.

I know this sounds crazy, and requires tons of works, but come on, the Flash Platfrom is at the brink of destruction, it's dying and it needs innovation, it's now or never!

If Adobe make AS4 almost identical to Swift, it's gonna be a huge benefit for Adobe:

1. Developers who develop with Swift for iOS & Mac OS, they can easily develop with AS4 for all other mainstream platforms, without having to learn different languages (although they have to learn different frameworks), this will draw a lot of Apple developers' attentions! In other words, Adobe can "steal" a lot of Apple's developers, so far as I know, people who develop for Apple also develop for Android and other platforms, they will be pleased to know that AS4 can do all of them.

2. ActionScript 4 will become the most popular script language of all time, a lot of Adobe's design and development tools on AS4 are gonna sell much more and much faster, money will come when it's massively popular!

Well that's my silly proposal about AS4 and Swift, if you are an Adobe employee, please forward this post to your leaders and CEO, thanks

DarkStone
2014-06-03

Can't Debug On iOS Simulator Anymore... Why Did You Break It Adobe?

I see lots of posts on this subject, and I am experiencing the same issue. I fail to see why this change in the SDK was put forth, as it has made development a real pain for iOS. In the AIR SDK 4.0 this worked fine. According to the new method, we are supposed to use an environment variable to control which simulator we want to debug in, but this does not work either when multiple iOS SDKs are installed. If this can be controlled by an environment variable, then why can't it be controlled by a command line option to adt? That would be a much more robust solution versus having to change your OS's environment every time you need to switch simulators.

Any response from development on why it is this way now?

Quick way to grab stage screenshot/framebuffer

Hey, I'm working in video encoding ANE - all is working great on iOS, except one HUGE bottleneck.

Grabbing 1 frame of application composed of MovieClips/layers etc. is super slow, because the only way I know around this is using BitmapData.draw, which of course redraws everything, including the effects etc., which is really slow for example on iPad 3.

In my case grabbing the frame as fast as possible is super important as I'm trying to achieve realtime video encoding. On the ANE side everything is optimized, using AVFoundation with pixel buffer pools etc. but AIR is killing it with the draw method.

When fooling around in the ANE, I made a list of views AIR is using on iOS, and saw the whole app is running in GL view. Could AIR provide a method to grab GL view somehow ? I tried hacking around it from the ANE(glReadPixels, which I know is slow but doesnt work anyway because the framebuffer is empty by the time Im calling it from ANE). Theres also a way to attach texture to framebuffer I think and have the content always ready there, which would be great - I'm not sure I can bind that texture to AIR's framebuffer though(didnt test this yet, but seems unlikely).

I even managed to grab a screen from ANE, there's a new method in iOS7 which can grab all the UIViews, but that is even slower than AIR unfortunately.

+I'm OpenGL newb. It would be cool if AIR took advantage of running in GL layer and provided some clean method for getting access to memory location with some texture/image from GL which could be used as screenshot/movie frame etc.

Has anyone else run into this problem? When I open the app it just loads to a black screen. I'm getting complaints from the users who have downloaded it, but I haven't changed anything so I don't know why it isn't working. When I try to publish the file from Flash CS6 now it gives me a long string of Javascript and Adobe Air errors. The errors are posted below. I just updated the Air SDK to version 15.0 but still get these errors.
