Why did I get an email my files are now in Revel?

You may have received a message that your files have migrated from Photoshop.com to Revel. If this was the first email you read on the topic, it may have taken you by surprise. Some users did not read the earlier emails from Adobe or found that they were forwarded to their spam folders. The most recent emails sent were upon completion of migration of files from Photoshop.com to Revel. You may be asking, "Why did my files go there?". The reason is that you likely had stored files at the Adobe cloud storage service at Photoshop.com in the past, and since that service is now being discontinued, we did not want you to lose your files. Users were given the option to opt out of the migration or allow their files to be put into Adobe Revel (another Adobe Cloud storage and sharing service) before the closing of Photoshop.com sharing and storage. Users who had files on Adobe Photoshop.com Sharing and storage cloud site who did not opt out, had their jpg files copied to Adobe Revel.

This was done as a convenience for customers so that they did not have to go to the effort of downloading from the one site and uploading to another since that can be very time consuming. Revel is a free account that you login to with the same credentials as you did on Photoshop.com. Although Revel is not a replacement for Photoshop.com (it has more of a focus on sharing between devices), it is an alternative. Users who never used Photoshop.com can also create an account.

Question: How do I archive my ps.com files with Adobe Media Downloader ?

Answer:

If you have files other than JPEGs in your Photoshop.com account and they have not been backed up somewhere else, or you have opted out of the move to revel, then you should use our ADOBE MEDIA DOWNLOADER at this link to save them to your computer before your Photoshop.com account closes at the end of the transition period in June 2013. You will see a screen like the one below. Download and install Adobe Air first. Then download install the media downloader. It can take a while if you have a lot of files.

You will be asked to download and install Adobe Air first, which is found at: http://get.adobe.com/air/

After installing the AIR runtime, you should be able to launch the Adobe Media Downloader by clicking the link. The direct link is:

How to cancel Revel Premium and return to the Free Revel version

iOS

If you are an iOS user, please disable automatic subscription renewal for Revel under your iTunes Store account, in the main device Settings app. For detailed instructions please see:

Note: All photos, libraries, and albums created while you were subscribed will remain available to you as an unpaid users of Adobe Revel. The limitations of the free version of Adobe Revel are that you may import only 50 new photos each month, and you cannot create any new libraries or invite any new library partners to collaborate with you.

Steps to download your images from Revel

Please ensure your original images are safely backed up outside of Revel (i.e., backed up on your computer or external storage device).

iOS

Launch the Revel app Select Actions button to enable multiple photo selection. Choose Save Original to Camera Roll

Mac

There are two options:

Enable Keep All Originals in Revel app Settings (Mac only).

This will download all original images that are also stored in the Revel cloud.

Images will be saved inside the Adobe Revel Library inside you User > Pictures folder.

To access the originals via Finder, right-click (mousebutton) or Ctrl+click on Pictures/Adobe Revel/Adobe Revel Library & select“Show Package Contents” from the context

menu. Photos will be organized by date in one or more sub-folders.

Export one or more photos to the hard disk

Cmd+click, or Shift+click, or choose Cmd-A to select one or more photos.

Press Cmd-E or choose the Revel app menu item File > Export # Photos

Choose to export Originals or Current (edited) versions of the photos.

Log into your Adobe Revel account at Adoberevel.com

Click on the image that you want to download, then select the download icon to save your image

(Note: Currently you can only download one image at a time using the web browser version Adoberevel.com)

Uninstall Revel from Mac OS & iOS

Ensure that you have no images waiting for upload in the status view.

iPad, iPhone, or iPad touch

Press and hold the Revel icon until all of the icons wiggle. Then tap the X in the corner of the Revel icon. That will delete all Adobe Revel from the device.

Mac

Open you Applications folder, and drag Adobe Revel to the trash.

Delete the Adobe Revel application cache. This is inside a hidden folder.

Use the Finder menu Go > Go to Folder (Shift+Cmd+G), and enter: ~/Library/Containers/
Select the folder com.adobe.Carousel.mac and drag it to the trash.

If you do not need to preserve the Adobe Revel Library in your Pictures folder or you are certain that you have the original photos stored safely elsewhere.

Drag the Adobe Revel Library.rvl to the trash, which is located on your boot drive at /Users/<your name>/Pictures/Adobe Revel/Adobe Revel Library.rvl

The PS express organizer and Uploader are specific to Photoshop.com. They will continue to work for un-migrated users until the end of the transition period. At the conclusion of the transition period, the Organizer and Uploader will no longer be used. Revel has the ability to upload and edit photos and after the transition period, you can use this if you choose. At this point in time, you can continue to use the PS editor as a stand alone editor for photos on your device if you choose to.

The Photoshop.com Photoshop Express Editor and the Photoshop Express app for iphone and iPad will not be affected by the transition to Revel. You can continue to use them both to edit and save to your device or computer.

A: You are encouraged to share new links once your files move to Revel. The links to shared albums you sent previously from Photoshop.com will be automatically redirected to AdobeRevel.com if your account has been migrated.

If you manually moved files to Revel without using our migration service or if you moved files to a different album in Revel after migration, you will need to send new share links.

Shared links to individual photos will not be redirected.

Your top-level personal URL will also no longer be valid (For example, if you have shared something like his: http://yourname.photoshop.com that goes to a public gallery of albums) that will not redirect to adoberevel.com.

If you live in the U.S., you can choose to opt out from having your photos moved.

If you live outside the U.S., nothing will happen unless you tell us you want us to move your photos by initiating a migration. Visit the migration page to start your move. If you choose not to move your photos, we suggest that you archive your complete Photoshop.com library to your computer. Archive now.

THE DATE TO OPT OUT HAS NOW PASSED.

(Click here to opt out from having your photos moved to Revel.)

Click here to archive your Photoshop.com library so you do not lose any files.

You will be asked to download an Adobe Air application called Media Downloader.

If you choose to initiate file migration, it will take you to this screen.

If you choose to initiate the archiving feature to download your files, you will also

A: To cancel your membership, sign in to your account on Adobe.com and click Delete Account. (If you’ve forgotten your Adobe ID username and/or password, you can also retrieve it there.) You can contact Support to assist with cancellation.

IMPORTANT: Remember, when you delete your account, all membership benefits — including sync, storage, and access to your photos and videos online at Photoshop.com — will immediately stop working, and your files and data will be inaccessible.
