Guide lines in Extract

Can you guys implement Guide lines in Extract ? It'd be awesome. And of course make able to import Guides from psd to extract.

I'm currently getting this error: "Uh oh, this PSD was not successfully processed because it's not currently compatible with Extract." What would cause a PSD to not be compatible with Extract?

Hi there,

Trying to download a layer from my designer's Photoshop file while viewing the file in "Assets" and keep getting the message "Error Extracting Asset". Any ideas?

Some layers go invisible regardless of show/hide setting

When I opened a PSD file with Extract, I noticed that some layers are totally transparent while these are not hidden.

I can select them, but sliced image is blank.

The PSD is not mine, so I can't upload it to public area, but it is okay to send directly to Adobe if needed.

Visibility bug with layers nested inside groups

I've noticed that if a group's visibility is toggled off, any layers nested inside with individual visibility toggled on will still display. So Extract is not honoring the parent container's visibility setting. Visibility also breaks when using Layer Comps. To better illustrate:

[off][group]
- [on][layer 1]
- [on][layer 2]
- [on][layer 3]

All layers will still show.

[off][group]
- [off][layer 1]
- [off][layer 2]
- [off][layer 3]

Visibility behaves correctly.

When handling a few layers it's not much of a deal. But often times my workflow requires me to group a large amount of layers with various visibility settings.

Can you guys look into it? Much appreciated!

how to extract images without layer styles?

Hey Team,

I often work with designs where there are images that have layer styles to add a border and add rounded corners. I want to be able to export this image without those additional styles, so I can add them with CSS instead. Currently, the border and border radius are extracted along with the image.

What is Extract in Creative Cloud Assets, and what does it do?

Extract in Creative Cloud Assets is a service for designers and developers, who turn Photoshop comps into code-based designs. It lets you quickly and easily extract what you need from a PSD comp.

Extract in Creative Cloud Assets lets you do the following directly in your browser:

Extract color, gradient and font info from a PSD
Copy text and CSS
Get accurate measurements between elements
Export production-ready optimized images

Who should use Extract?

Extract is ideal for developers and designers who regularly receive Photoshop comps, and translate them into code-based designs. It makes it easier to extract vital information from PSDs. Developers working on native iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows applications may also find Extract valuable.

How do I get access to Extract?

Uploading a PSD and using the Extract service is available to anyone with a Creative Cloud account (including the free tier accounts). Creative Cloud users can also share PSDs through the Creative Cloud where the recipient of the file will be able to use Extract even without logging in.

How do I submit feedback or feature requests for Extract?

Are there any features that are still being worked on?

Yes, the items below are not yet completed. You might see some inconsistencies between what you see in Photoshop versus what you see in Extract. Our goal is to provide perfect fidelity for your PSDs -- please let us know if you see inconsistencies with:

Does Extract have any known issues or problems?

Yes, we have noted the following known issues:

Some SVG files get extracted incorrectly.
It is hard to pick individual pixels using the color picker when a PSD is zoomed in (less than 80%).
A pattern fill shows as a solid color when extracted as SVG.
Some large PSDs don’t render fully in Extract
Linear gradient angle can be off by as much as 4 degrees.

As a user of Extract, I would like to have the ability to open/access assets and information contained within smart objects or linked layers. Is this possible?

Problem:

In Extract ( Extract for PSD ) a user is unable to access assets or information from smart objects or linked layers.

Usage:

Smart Objects/Linked Layers are useful for templated web workflows
@Sectioning content allows for a holistic view with access to granular information

Possible Solution(s):

Could we create a link between to cloud files.
Could a smart object or linked layer be expanded on upload
Could we create a drop menu like the layer comps that includes related files
