Lightroom CC slow after Yosemiti update?

I recently updated my Macbook pro Retina (16GB Ram) to OS X Yosemiti. After updating Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC, the latter is responding very slow especially Zooming in and out in develop module. It takes 3 to 5 sec to either zoom in or out from Fit to view. LR has also started crashing. Also reading in lot of reviews that Yosemiti is a RAM hog.

Can you please suggest a solution for this and also an optimum memory settings for LR and PS to be used simultaneously?
